Hi Barry,
Sorry mate, I can probably help and I’d like to, but I’m not sure what you’re asking.
Could you clarify your question please?
Um, what’s a ‘pet reg’

Hi Barry,

I will try an explain it better
I know some trucks have adr specs fitted to them every year the go for adr and mot
I also know some trucks have pet regs fitted to them ie petrol tanker trucks shell esso bp etc we have an ex jet petroleum daf with pet regs which i understand pet regs are a requiment by oil refineries so these trucks can load at refineries
The question im asking is if you get a standard truck pet reg does that me its complies with adr sorry about spelling mistakes the company that is doing the conversion are astra vehicle technologies ellesmere port we have arsked for the vehicle to be adr and pet reg

Think it was the law that was introduced a few years back saying that all dangerous dogs should be muzzled when in public places!!
I think you are overcomplicating this here by describing adr and pet regs as an item fitted to a vehicle which i believe to be incorrect they are merely a set of guidelines or rules (regulations hence the regs bit) or more importantly a specification the vehicle must adhere to.
As far as i know (and i will bow to superior knowledge) Adr regulations dont actually specify much other than that the vehicle is constructed in such a way that the drivers cab is isolated from the load. Everything else haz boards, fire extinguishers ppe spill kit etc are pretty much portable and can be applied to any vehicle with a seperate cab making it ok for adr use.
Pet regs are the regulations for the petrol industry and are far more specific these consentrate on making the electrical system intrinsicaly safe, fitting isolators and their assosiated marker lights also fitting different mudguards usually metal.
As far as i know any vehicle can have these adaptions done and if done properly in adherence to the petroleum industry regulations the vehicle will be up to pet reg specification and suitable for use in this manner. Kinda like entering a car in banger racing it starts life as a wreck but follow the specifications welding up doors removing glass etc fitting a battery isolator and at the end the vehicle meets banger specs and is technically a race car.
In basic answer to your question a vehicle to pet reg specification is over specced for adr work and as such more than eligable for adr use
Hope this helps
