AdBlue Torque Reduction -Volvo FH

Is the truck still drivable when the torque reduction kicks in? I’m a good 9 hours from been on home soil with 4 hours until torque reduction. Suppose on the bright side if I do have problems I’m going to have them in Sweden so parts shouldn’t be a problem.

Dunno…sorry…
But if light Id be more inclined to "give it a go" than if heavy. Having said that, depending on your company, I would be looking to get into a dealer under my steam, and just accept that it aint early doors this week.

Or…

Stick some ad blue in the tank? :unamused:

If it’s anything like the ones I’ve driven you really really do not want to go into torque reduction. You may get 56MPH on the flat but the slightest incline you’ll be fighting to keep it above 20MPH. Just stick some adblue in, it’s not so expensive that putting in 5-10 litres is going to bankrupt you.

New NOX Sensor~~, id be changing both as you can bet your house that the other one will flash up pretty quickly after the new one is fitted, and its the driving time, not the clock ticking down that have to play with…~~
£408.48 each with the exchange credit, up £71 in a month from our main stealer the other week :unamused:

Do you think I’d be that stupid to run with no AdBlue? The message is “INCORRECT ADBLUE QUALITY” but thanks for your useful advice. Next time my tank is near empty I’ll look back on this, rememember your advice before asking what to do, and fill my AdBlue tank.

I think that warning is a generic one to cover all bases regarding adblu issues, we get it now & again and we only use one supplier, although that is changing this weekend due to cost pressure from the incumbent one :unamused:

Nox sensor having a strop I reckon

Depending on the nature of the fault, and if you don’t want to waste time awsy from base, if you can get a plug in to a diagnostic computer, they may be able to give you another 36 hrs running before it crashes again.

You’re o.p. didn’t mention that specific message, just that you were about to go into limpmode, asking if you could run home on limpmode. So yes, I did think that you were running low on Adblue

You’e right and I apologise. Shouldn’t have posted my reply. Was having a bad day. Truck is now in Torque Reduction mode and is pretty much undrivable. Finish unloading tomorrow morning, load ASAP then straight to a Volvo Service Center in Goteborg to get fixed. The truck drives ok and initially I thought I’d be good to get back to a ferry but then I hit the first slightest of inclines and you lose all power. Luckily Ive got maybe 30km to do tomorrow mostly inside Goteborg so I might get away with hiding in the slow moving traffic.

No need to apologise, hope you manage to get to the dealer OK without gridlocking Göteborg :sunglasses:

2300 euros for 1 sensor in Sweden. Got the guy to clear the fault and am sat waiting for a ferry.
