Accumlated wisdom you'd pass on?

If you had to advise yourself or someone you cared about who was at the start of their life - what kind of thing would you say? Do you think life has taught you any wisdom? Or are you basically just the same as you were when you were 20?

I suppose mine would be

  1. Try and exercise
  2. Have an open mind
  3. Think progress not perfection
  4. Be tolerant of people
  5. Be as kind as you can be

and last but not least

5)When cutting up a body in a bathtub always leave the arms on till last - otherwise it just spins.

5). If the body is already in the bathtub, use acid.
Caustic Soda is fun too…

Things I’ve learned and been taught:

  1. Just ■■■■■■ do it
  2. Tell it like it is and tell more people to eff off
  3. Think BIG and stop hanging around with losers
  4. Do things that are hard and that scare you, and do them often
  5. Find a good woman, marry her and have kids (I was against marriage and kids when I was young and dumb)
  6. Political correctness is just the manifestation of a lack of self esteem
  7. A child’s self esteem is developed within the first 7 or 8 years of it’s life, after that it’s harder to work on (good to know now I’ve got young kids)
  8. Help your fellow man, he may be embarrassed to ask
  9. Don’t chase a man with a gun after he’s just shot at you if you don’t have one! (I did this and it was extremely stupid)

One simple tune from back in the day :sunglasses:

First few verses… and some solid advice

If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it
A long-term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists
Whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable
Than my own meandering experience, I will dispense this advice now
Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth, oh, never mind
You will not understand the power and beauty of your youth
Until they’ve faded, but trust me, in 20 years, you’ll look back
At photos of yourself and recall in a way you can’t grasp now
How much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked
You are not as fat as you imagine

This was actually a cool song back in the day!

I would say.
1 dont smoke
2 exercise 3 times a week
3 eat healthy.
4 money,be careful and pay into a pension
5 keep well away from those who want to put you down. This is very important,I think. And its sometimes not easy to see. They are disguised as those that want you to do well, but just those subtle words, can be very damaging without you realising it.I saw a poster once.Stop telling people your problems,80% dont care, the other 20% are glad you have them.
6 dont copy others too closely,be your own individual.
7 The tongue. So many things best left unsaid

Rob’s Relationship Advice.

When you find the woman you love and want to spend your life with, never forget it’s the nature of a woman to try and control her man. :bulb:

At first they try to make him drop his mates, and basically make him do as he is told all for the duration of the relationship, to the point if him being totally under the thumb and having a totally miserable ■■■■ life.

(It’s like bosses with drivers, they only do sh because they are allowed to get away with it, and only do it for as far as YOU let them. :bulb: )

Nip it in the bud and you will have a much better and happier life and relationship…(as they will also if you look out for each other.)

Me and my Mrs have been together for bloody years,.and we still get on great,.weekends away,.date nights, and all the rest of it.
I passed this wisdom on to both my lads, as I have seen what a woman can do if you give her a free hand.
Always best to be equal rather than the woman being the boss and the man being the doormat, and equally so vice versa.

  1. Look after number one first.
  2. When you’re surrounded by an idiot, give up and walk away.
  3. Ignore the above at your peril!

Remember your dad / mum are just a phone call away
Away
It’s still your house as well
