CLOSED.
Due to fires, there is currently no traffic from Spain to Perpignan.
Sappeurs police and local volunteers out plus the usual air support too.
No idea how ling this might last.
Jonquera will be one hell of a hole!

My brother lives in Perpignan and said as he went to work on monday there were trucks parked all over the place leading upto the last services on the A9 heading south.
He said the A9 was closed at around 1230 on Sunday so i hate to think what the Q is like for the borders now
^ Not much of an alternative route, Andorra Foix possibly, but thats one hell of treck.
All D roads in area closed too I believe, not good be a mini Rumo fest in Le Jonq
Found this info on it Spain fires: Three killed in northern Catalonia wildfires as tourists are warned of travel chaos | Daily Mail Online which shows the parking area at jq
Don`t like going Andorra normally let alone when the motorway is closed
typical police. stay there don’t move, or 6000 euro fine.
This was yesterday Monday
today Tuesday traffic has been back to normal and we have not encountered any delays
Years ago a driver stopped to do super market shopping, came back to his truck cremated, the mirror on the cab had burnt a hole in the side of the trailer, and caught it on fire.
I would not bother with a different route,my ex boss was on the phone, and distracted me,i got too far to turn back south of Toulouse,so i carried on,what a mistake, narrow villages, steep and twisty hills, that would take forvever to do a few kms.
One village only had room for one truck at a time,it was early in the morning, but the loggers and milk tankers were on the move,at a busy time, the trucks must have got stuck in the tight street with over hanging houses,i eventualy made it ,and came out by the airport maintenance hangers in Perpigan, then south to Barclelona.
