Is that an Indian Reservation?
Sorry…I’ll get my coat…
Most of us have had hard times and wondered where the next penny was coming from. Sounds a decent enough fella. I never get up that way, or I’d gladly give him some food or bung him a fiver.
Maybe someone who knows him could set him up a PayPal account, for donation purposes.
be good to see a few photos if any of you have him and his set up on camera? -for us who never go that direction
i once had a spell living homeless - i loved it!
Must admit, I could quite happily live 24/7 in a truck.
I never take the p*ss out of people like that ,
you never know what’s around the corner , one day you might find yourself living like that or worse in a doorway .
I’ve never stopped, he always waves, but never had too much sympathy for the guy, he chose that lifestyle and the changes he had to make. I hope to never be in that situation but my hard earned £££s won’t be going in his pocket.

That’s a good idea, I’d gladly chip in a fiver to help the old boy out.

Hes been on there for a good 3 years now, albeit he was further down the road before. seems like a nice chap, always waves when you pass him with a smile.
Bumping an old thread but he got evicted today, they even closed the road.It will be strange not seeing him there.Hope everything turns out ok for him.
Take care Charles.

The ■■■■■■■ ■■■■■■■■ What harm was he doing? I’d like to know how they can evict him as I’m sure you can actually " wild camp" and have roaming rights where you can walk anywhere in Scotland.
Sounds about right for this now bloody awful country, we’ll let all sorts of ragamuffins, non members of the caravan club, leave piles of crap and mayhem behind them all over the place, but by God we’ll soon sort some poor lone sod out who’s doing no one any harm.
Makes you proud to be British so it does.

I’ve gave Traffic Scotland a right gob full on Twitter. I suggest we all give em some grief in support of the fella. I’ve piled into the lay by a couple of times and gave him some food and tea bags, coffee etc and had a natter on my 45. He’s got a few good yarns to tell and some intresting photos from days gone by when he used to hill climb.

Totally agree.
His presence was causing a danger to the public who turned to look at him etc, so the ■■■■■■ in the Perth & Kinross council said. The general public have no civil rights any more ! I used to look forward to seeing him as I went up and down that road.
He was not doing any harm at all. He always seemed quite happy with his life. Never thought he was a danger a quick toot and a wave always got a wave back. Will miss him on my journeys up and down there.
A bigger distraction is that pothole a bit further up the road southbound.
I don’t agree with them moving him on but it was no way to live.
They guy was a land mark “Aye, am just passin’ the guy wi’ the Merc!!!” or as it later became the guy with the Merc, 3 tents and a motorbike!!!
Always was out waving when I was on my way back from 'Ness in the morning, wish I had stopped now
