Lucky ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā They could overtake!!!
I use a bit of A75 very often - I like to go to Prestwick via Dumfries - and it drives me crazy that they all drive in columns, bumper into bumper, and altough there would be no problem to overtake one or even two of them, seven (as yesterday) might cause a problemā¦
With all this moaning would it not be more easier for the tossers holding everybody back to just pull into a layby and let the traffic flow go on? Why on earth people would want anyone stuck on there @ss pushing them on or have 1-20 lorries + cars causing a huge cue behind them is beyond me⦠Id actually feel embaressed f I was holding a cue of traffic back? But hey ho there are arrogant [zb] that quite freely drive these roads nowadays thinking there doing no wrong.

just where do you suggest they do this, long stretches donāt have anywhere and those there are rammed with drivers on their 45
^^Well obviously heās meaning when there is a free layby and from my experience there are plenty of them and rarely full.
Majority of drivers do not move over. Where not talking 5 or 6 cars behind, talking queues stretching back as far as the eye can see ones
If the traffic and conditions permit I will do the speed limit on every road I go on whether in car or truck.
I donāt agree with all the speed limits we have especially the 40mph on single carriageway for trucks but the law is the law My licence etc etc and thatās the end of the story - pass me if you must

Would it not be easier for the heroes in big flash motors to use all that horsepower to overtake the slower trucks? Or is that too obvious?
If you need someone to pull over for you either you are driving a crap truck or you are a crap driver.
Which is it?
And I donāt feel embarrassed if there is a queue of traffic behind meā¦I just think thatās rather a lot of crap drivers in crap cars. Maybe they should have bought a better car that can accelerate from 40mph in when the need arises.

If all truck drivers complied with the speed limits there would be absolute chaos, cars drivers would soon start voicing their opinions and it is possible that there may be a review of the limits.
As things stand though, the authorities get the best of both worlds, some of those that speed get caught and pay for it, but on the whole the job gets done.
As has been said before and will be again, truck drivers are their own worst enemy and until they do something about it they will always be Mr Bad Guy.

Your right, a lot of the problem is as much about vehicles happy to sit behind a slow moving vehicle as it is the slow moving vehicle its self.
You have to remember though not everyone has confidence to make a overtake, not everyone knows the road their on. Also if you get traffic bunching up, a couple of trucks together say, its a whole different ball game. More time taken to danger, requiring a longer straight etc. - Its just not as simple as a lot of folk make out so is why moving over when you have a large queue behind you is the right thing to do!!!

No it isnāt.
With a limiter set at 52, it doesnāt matter what speed I travel at, there will always be a large queue behind me and I aināt diving into every layby like a frightened schoolgirl just to appease some ā ā ā ā in a car or a hero in a truck.
Btw, travelling from dumfries to gretna at 40 takes only 3 mins longer than sitting at 56.

You sure?
25 miles between the two, would take you 37minutes and 30seconds at 40mph and 26minutes 47 seconds at 56mph, 11 minutes quicker.
I live on the A76 and drive out of either Gretna or Brampton so I know that section of the A75 better than most. Chances of being able to achieve a constant 56 on the A75 between Dumfries and Gretna are NIL except maybe during the early hours. Even in the car youāre not going to get anywhere by driving like a ā ā ā ā so best just to ease off, chill and save fuel.
Have to admit that sitting at 40 can do my head in a bit, in fact running up and down the M6/M74 in the early hours can be pretty dire so thinking of getting some language tapes to keep me switched on.
