A37 Shepton Mallet

Use this road most days…seeing a sign that says it’s closed, for 4 weeks but 1 week with traffic lights…from 4th September I think…
This seems to be between Shepton and Ston Easton…can’t find anything on line about it but this is going to be crazy…what’s the diversion ■■?
Am I being paranoid ? :unamused:

Is this any good …somerset.gov.uk/roads-parkin … -somerset/ then click on A37 Oakhill.

Thanks Bald Bloke…very useful…have bookmarked it now.

There’s enough roads around there to avoid it anyway.

It’s going to be a nightmare. I’m in Shepton and that road is hugely important to lots of our routes. I’m covering for others holidays atm and am dreading being given the northwards runs because it’s just going to be a massive ballache :unamused:

Yeah, going a few miles towards Frome must be a real massive “ball ache”…

Tis if you want Bristol

A371 to Wells then A39 back to the A37 I’m guessing but not entirely sure where about it’s shut.

Going to wards B water or Frome adds about 20min on the trip to Bristol no big deal as we do it everyday and that extra 20 min alternative route actually gives better mpg .

Another site I use is and just put in as you see it.

Roadworks.org

Nothing else just as you see above, you can specify dates and times it’ll give you details about the clousers / roadworks current and planed and if there’s t lights alt routes etc

Framptons ,by any chance , I’ve been there a few times , hated that A37 from Bristol to Shepton , my wing mirrors weren’t too keen on it either

No problem for me, loaded at Davies Turner Dartford London for three drops in Bulgaria and four in Turkey.
I have packed the sun cream.

If heavy in an artic, there is not
much difference by going via Pillton to Glastonbury to the M5 to avoid the road closure and Bristol centre to the M32, M4 and M5.

Or to avoid the road shut, from Shepton, take the Frome bypass to Beckington on the A36 to Bath to the M4 @ Tormaton.

Without the A37 shut, I avoid Bristol center, by taking the new Western bypass, which takes you to under Clifton suspension bridge to Avonmouth to the M5.
Or the Eastern bypass Keynsham bypass ring road.
Road works by Temple Meads railway station to avoid.

We are the county that seems to forget to cut hedges!

But uses more of those gallons due to the longer route!

But some companies Nick’s in particular are mpg driven,
