Should be out of action until some time next year, at least.

I suppose their ‘getaway lorry’ was still limited to 56.

16 months…
Is that all? Closer to 4 years might be a better deterrent.

I think he was at 81 previous convictions, perhaps they were holding out for triple figures before they get heavy.
They stole thousands of pounds’ worth of goods from the back of lorries parked near the A34 in Oxfordshire and Hampshire, loading them into the back of their own getaway HGV and leading police on dangerous motorway chases.
Cue dramatic American accent: "And they reached death defying speeds of FIFTY SIX miles PER HOUR"
I’m sure the pursuing police were bored out of their minds trundling along, wondering what they were having for dinner that night, texting the missus, scrolling through Youtube, etc.
Is it any wonder the police are leaving the force in droves, when, for all their hard work, a paltry sentence like this is handed out?
Magistrates have a table from which they work for sentencing, and if he has done it again while on bail, he should have been given longer as he clearly thought he wouldn’t get caught again.
I am not a gambling man, but I bet we see his name again in the not too distant future.
Ken.
meh. the system is rigged.
Any crime where there is no physical violence they tend to go easy when it comes to sentencing. So they know trailer thefts even if caught there is not much risk.
Clearly gaming the system.
