A303 closure over the night

Hi. It comes from Highways Agency website:

The A303 eastbound will be closed between the junctions with the A358 and the A356, due to roadworks, between 8 pm and 6 am, from 8 December 2014 to 12 December 2014.

Any idea what diversion is like? I spoke to HA advisor over the phone and they are not able to provide information on the diversion and I was told I need to follow signs.

“Follow the signs”, its great advice only to find that either the signs disappear or some scrote has nicked one.

Where are you actually going? If you’re going the whole distance it may be easier to use the M5 and M4. You could also take the A30 instead (not sure if there’s a weight limit on the Chard/Crewkerne bit though). That stretch is the Ilminster by-pass so they may divert you via the old A303.

M5 south → Junction 25 → A358 → A303 → Gillingham - best route to get there.

No weight limits in Crewkerne.A few tight turns but ok in an artic.
No weight limit in Chard.
