I heard from a driver on the boat this weekend that the service area at the bottom of the A10 (Bordeaux end) has had problems with drivers being gassed. The service area I think is called Mellignac or something like that, definitely starts with an “M” (I stopped in there the other week for the night). It’s the one Southbound as you come off the N10 out onto the motorway (first service area). Apparently a Pole and two Czech drivers were gassed. One of the Czech drivers is lucky to be alive according to this guy relating the story and is still critical in hospital. I know Bordeaux can be problematic sometimes, but I thought I would raise this with you all. Heads up. !
On another brief note, be cautious if parking in the Blanquefort “Routier”. I had my trailer opened the other week. Luckily nothing taken. Avoid parking in the corner adjacent to the Bar where the little industrial units are. All vehicles parked there that night along that rear end had their trailers/loads tampered with. I have a feeling I know who did it to. There is what appears to be an abandoned Peugeot car (silver) parked next to the industrial units alongside the wall with someone living rough in it. I’ve seen him in and out of the trailers at night in the early hours, so keep an eye on him to.
