So heading south on the A10 from the A25 heading for Lidl Enfield truck sat nav says turn left onto the A110 which is like a mini slip with traffic island onto A110, all well and good used that route a few weeks ago when the first left off the 25 was shut for roadworks, this time I noticed the road on the truck sat nav was red on the main part of the junction meaninig a restriction was in place if you was coming from a different direction as in turning right onto A110 from the the A10 north.
This is the tom tom view of the junction showing 7.5T restrictions in red in place on all entries apart from the one coming from the north, and all have restriction signs up but not when you approach from the north, I did notice the sign that relates to the route you would take coming from the south and across that junction plus the other ways into that junction have pre warning signs as you approach it, but not when heading south, so question is, is it acceptable to use that route when there is no way to tell it has a restricion, or is it the junction that is restricted because I didn’t spot any signs down there to say the restriction had ended.
Fatboy slimslow:
Can’t use it you’ll get a ticket. The only exception would be delivering to TOSSCOS! Use A1055 first set of lights turn left
I can see where you are coming from, but unlike the london lorry control roads don’t need signed up to be enforced apparently from a previous experience, other weight limits have to be clearly and correctly signed to be enforceable, how would you know that that road has a weight limit other than checking after you had used it.
Also the A1055 has a london lorry control sign on it, even though it is no longer in the zone.
The way some roads are marked up around london are verging on entrapment as ignorance is no defence…
The A110 from the north has no signage what so ever relating to a weight limit being in force, and there seems to be quite a few trucks using it to get to the A1055 further down.
