A1 direction Paris

In all my years of driving I have never seen so much chaos and bad weather in one day/night .

We left Northampton at 0400 on Tuesday and we got to Paris at 0900 today. We were told by the Gendamerie that we could drive at 1930 only to find that when we got to the A2 split that is was forbidden for trucks to drive! We were woken after 3 hours sleep and told we could drive. With our printouts signed we went for it!

Were there any with snow chains on?

I think they are called "snow socks " as a previous poster has said …

so are they being worn to bring snow, similar to the indians doing the rain dance? because I don’t see any snow worth mentioning

Since Oct 2010 .

I used to do the Hazardous run for JR smith to Arnhem. Trying to work out if I knew you but finished with them around 2008/9.
Is Bob Stone still around for SJP?

I find that being told by the police to stop is usually a decent reason!!

Ross.

The rules to park up drivers does exist, they call it a snow or winter order, and if they have told you to park up and you move again without them saying so, they can fine you a lot of money.
The Guardia Civil would pull off the lorries on the National one Burgos/Madrid road, when they thought it would not be safe, as there a few big mountains on that route, one of which is the Somosiera.

I’ve been parked in Burgos twice because of snow.
