Anybody know where Vic went? Dark red trailer which used to be the last place on the e/b 590 before the roundabout near Kendal, but not been seen (by me anyhow) for ages. Had a strange accent and called everybody “bab”.
Cracking scoffs out of there, proper local butcher’s stuff.

Gawd i used to in there daily when i was in the yard
(yard was near the gilpin bridge pub )
He did great hot pots and stew. And his breakfast box was legendary amongst the lads on the 590

will ask me brother if he knows anything!
Mainly as he used to supply him meat!

There was a snack van wiped out in a RTC on the 590 when a car lost control on ice and hit it. Don’t know if its the same one though.

what about “roys rolls” on woodhead  …it was just a container with a door

is he still around  the last couple of times ive been across,im sure he was closed

Dan Punchard:
The only one I go to is vals on woodhead ,its 20 years since I first stopped there and its as good now as back then ,I give her 10 out of 10.

regards dave

Went to Shirley’s yesterday opposite Brenntag Lutterworth, she was very nice and bacon sarnies were good

There is a good snack van opposite Devon grain at Cullompton.

there used to be a good one in Gilberdyke

The one outside ministry of cakes in Taunton is spot on too.

Good snack van on the industrial estate at Castle Douglas. Just off the Ayr road. Only a minute from the A75.

Anyone remember Bacon Bobs at Kendal just off the M6 going back some 25 years

His place was between the Diesel J 36 and the roundabout before the M 6 , J 36.
Aye, he could be a grumpy devil at times. :unamused:
You could order a bacon roll via the C.B. about a mile away from his layby , and it would be nearly ready when arriving. Very handy , if in a hurry , - and catching him in a good mood . :unamused:
He reckoned himself to be well in with BBC Radio 2 `s " Trucker Girl" Sheila Tracey . Remember her , anyone ?
Not seen or heard owt of Bob for years. Maybe “dew” on here might know what became of him.

Cheers , cattle wagon man.

i know its not strictly a van but does anybody here still use the motormans cafe on the A62 climbing out of marsden cracking food served on a hot plate at ya table

Best one by a mile, John and Jackie Mill Lane, Croydon. Try their homemade half pounders…dribble! :stuck_out_tongue:

Slightly off topic does anyone wonder about the names? Funniest I ever saw was Chris B Bacon somewhere on the A75

the one on the industrial estate at Alfreton just off the A38 is a good en. great breakfast baguettes with the proper large crusty baguettes and a brew for about £4.50. Set you up for the day

My favourite, sedbury layby on A66 at Scotch corner.

It might be RDC wollocks but there was a good snack van called Sam an" Ellas fast food.

Another good one I remember from '02 - '03 was Jan and Nevs at just off the A435 I think, between Cirencester and Cheltenham near The Seven Springs pub. A really lovely couple, in their Golden years. My mate told Nev the old Bill Withers joke (duck in a microwave) and he fell off his feet he laughed so much!

Big Blue Food Bus in Lakeside on Eastern Avenue, love the bacon torpedo!
