Hey, i might seem a bit slow on the uptake but after nearly a year and a half i have finally discovered the benefits of satellite radio. I can’t believe what i have i have been missing all this time. I have heard about it from everyone else but avoided getting it then last week while i was waiting for a reload out of San Diego i found i had run out of excuses not to invest in it so i spent the day taking half of the dash & trim out to run all the wires out of sight and hey presto! If i say so myself, its a tidy job. I’m going to miss all the religion and country music. (not)
It does seem strange listening to Chris Moyles on radio 1 when you’re running down through Texas!!!
It was one of the 1st things I got, I did that running the wires under the dash in my Volvo, but in the 379 it is under my cb in the gap that the sunblinds don’t cover, so it’s double handy!
I like the 60s 70s 80s channels, 125 or 135 cant remember which for the English footie & 103 which is a comedy channel, all we need now is Radio 2 & I can have Wogan instead of that fat northern git & I can get back to popmaster!
Now come on Wire you go all that way to listen to radio one, try tuning to Vancouver 101 much better than the garbage they play over here.
great pics you and Mercman are posting.
I like when they have a channel dedicated to one band for a few weeks. The Who was on for a month or so a couple of years ago,a live concert from somewhere wayback when ,every night .It was great .Led Zep has channel 33 right now (sirius)
Have to say I 'm stuck on a few channels and haven’t listened to all 150 of them or whatever it is.
Anyone else listen to 117 or 118? I like the story channels, and 002, the Blend, is cool.
Hate to say it, Mark, but I did tell you so!!
How’s Keystone then Rob? You going back on the ice?
I will be, according to the company anyhow. Should be good, maybe earn a few shillings this year.
Satellite radio rules… Wish there was a similar system for Europe…
but in the 379 it is under my cb in the gap that the sunblinds don’t cover
Now theres an issue on its own! Hey look at these handy cut outs in my sun blinds for the cb to fit into. I wonder why all truck makers don’t do that?
Then the first time you find yourself running into the sun and you use them. D’oh!!!
I thought about radio 2 myself but i supose the current affairs stuff on Jeremy Vine is only relevant to the UK and Sally Traffic would be pointless. Chris Evans would be good though.
I have tried to listen to the book stations Rob, but i never know when a new story is starting. Best wishes for your new job by the way.
I know what you mean about being over here and still listening to Radio 1 Dieseldog, but i do listen to other stuff as well. Its great to have the choice now.
I’m stuck on Channels 100 and 101 the Howard Stern Channels, those and the country and 80s channels. I love my Sirius, its great to be able to listen to the same station from Phoenix to Vegas and back.!
Stu
I’m finding radio 1 unlistenable.Probably because I am now OLD.When I left the UK radio 1 was Steve Wright,Peter Powell,Janice Long,Gary (something),DLT,Noel Edmunds etc. Btw what happened to radio caroline?
I’ve tried the book channel on sirius but it’s hard going, doesn’t seem to be any continuity, and only partial stories,am I missing something?Harping back to the old country I used to like radio 4 where they had one story each week, a half hour each day at the same time.At least you knew when to tune in.
Longwayround:

Thank you allikat…as a school boy I used to listen, very late at night on a little transistor radio. No wonder I’m a truck driver.
