A religion question for Robroy, but will he give me a straigh

Robroy, yes, unlike a lot of Christians,I do have a sense of humour, its my way of emphasising that Im still a fallen sinner who needs Jesus’s sacrifice to save my soul, but,I have to be clear, there is a time for this to be serious.
I had a really bad dream once, after the doctor had given me ,well ,not so good news, and I was floating around my family, only they didnt notice me,I realised they got used to me not being there.Yes,they mourned my passing, but then,as is right, this only lasted so long, the time came for them to get on with things, they learnt to live without me,they learned to laugh again ,after so long,as I would want them to.But it was only a dream/nightmare.It was as if God had opened the gates of hell and let me have a little peep through. But this hell wasnt fire and brimestone,it was the hell of knowing that life goes on and,you know, over time,we get remembered less, until ,after maybe a generation or so,we are forgotten completey. So,there was a gift for me to remind me to focus on the world that is to come

Anyway, where is that Mansion house drink,I thought you were going to get some for me…

> I dont know what an oxymoron is! I have to google it!

An oxymoron is a figure of speech/text that juxtaposes concepts with opposite meanings within a word or in a phrase that is a self-contradiction. As a rhetorical device, an oxymoron illustrates a point to communicate and reveal a paradox.

For example your post: “creationists and experts in this field”
The reality is that a creationist cannot be an expert, belief does not bestow knowledge.

As in:- you do not know, you just believe and sadly it looks like one or more Southern USA fundamentalist Christians caught you at a low ebb & sold you their cult.

The danger in all of this is that your vulnerability and others like you are just as likely to be sold the story of any of the Abrahamic cults.
That is why the Security services in the UK are monitoring people like yourself as well as Islamic Fundamentalists, and your lot are now considered more dangerous than the Islamist version of the same bollox.

I suggest you sign up for a remedial education course, your obvious lack of education makes you particularly vulnerable to Snake Oil Salesman.

Ok he aint gonna admit to us he’s on a wind up, so I’ll keep playing along…just for the crack.

Back to the dinosaur thing…
You say there was a ‘couple of dinosaurs on the ark’.
I ain’t no paeleantologist,.but as far as I know the dinosaurs lived for 1000s of years, and there were different periods,.with different species,.and they died out and other animals evolved…So…

Surely the dinosaurs would not exist amongst species of animals as we know them, and again afaik, homo.sapiens or modern man (Noah and his family) did not live alongside dinosaurs.

Now in case anybody thinks I’m a gullible crank, I know the story of Noah is a fable,.a legend, but I’m only responding to Sploom on it,.as he thinks it is factual.

As usual, he gets tied in knots and makes things up as he goes along, if there had been a passage in the bible mentioning velociraptors, he would sure shell have quoted it.

Whisperingsmith you can continue insulting me if you wish but dont expect me to reply to your questions

Robroy,I think, even darwin would say that dinosaurs existed alongside ,for example, spiders that still exist today. But I dont believe the world is millions of years old,but I can understand that,if you dont believe in God,then,it doesnt leave you much choice but to believe everything just fell into place, and as unbelievable as that is,you have then,in order for it to be more plausable, you have to say,all these things happened over a period of millions of years.
You think Im fake?
If you go to your nearest baptist or evangelical chirch, you will meet people just like me there. Its no great mystery

OK Sploom, I’m trying to help you as I was once in the same position as you & believed all that BS before I escaped.

But I’ll Quote the Bible instead as it will soon be Sunday:

Song of Solomon 4:16
Awake, O north wind, and come, O south wind! Blow upon my garden, let its spices flow. Let my beloved come to his garden, and eat its choicest fruits.

Song of Solomon 2:3
As an apple tree among the trees of the forest, so is my beloved among the young men. With great delight I sat in his shadow, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.

Proverbs 30:18-20
Three things are too wonderful for me; four I do not understand: the way of an eagle in the sky, the way of a serpent on a rock, the way of a ship on the high seas, and the way of a man with a virgin. This is the way of an adulteress: she eats and wipes her mouth and says, “I have done no wrong.”

Song of Solomon 2:1-17
I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys. As a lily among brambles, so is my love among the young women. As an apple tree among the trees of the forest, so is my beloved among the young men. With great delight I sat in his shadow, and his fruit was sweet to my taste. He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love. Sustain me with raisins; refresh me with apples, for I am sick with love. …

Proverbs 5:19
A lovely deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts fill you at all times with delight; be intoxicated always in her love.

God gave us cancer too.

No,we gave ourselves these things when we disobeyed God.All these terrible diseases were not in Gods original design for mankind

Sploom:
No,we gave ourselves these things when we disobeyed God.

Ok,.so what are your views on disabled people then?

This will.be interesting.

Hush, shhhhhhhh

I reckon it’s a similar narrow minded and bizzare view (not to mention bigoted) to his and all his church cult’s (that’s ''CULT’S btw  ) opinions on homosexuality, and he’s constructing a positive spin and tactful non offensive reply for a bit of damage limitation. :unamused:

I’m assuming a similar type view to Glenn Hoddle when he managed England that was the kiss of death for his job.
We await the wise words …but in the meantime…

A good excuse to listen to a bit of Depeche Mode.

Ah,I see,you want to back me into a corner and then I have to point the finger at disabled people and say they deserved the disability, the fact that you put me in this position says as much about you as me.Only I am forbidden,as a Christian to say this.Mathew 7 tells me,judge not lest ye be judged.
If it was my view.I dont have any views,I can only try and interpret what scripture says.God created man as immortal and with a perfection that we dont enjoy today. It was one mans sin that brought all these unwanted things into creation.Yes,it is unfair for a baby to be born with a disabilty but we live in cursed and corrupted world where it isnt possible that any of us have perfect bodies. This is only my observation ,by the way,I dont have an opinion that anyone deserves to be disabled

Its funny, you dont like being backed into a corner but its ok for you to do it to me :astonished:

Nice swerve, nice cop out, you should have been an MP.
Btw… what exactly does it say about me?
Am I only allowed to ask you the type of questions you are comfortable with,.so you can quote endless tedious crap from your Bible to me?
We have already gone through this process when I asked you your church’s attitude to homosexuality, but despite your efforts you failed to hide your primitive unadulterated bigotry.

All I am trying to do is continue the debate that YOU started, ,.and point out that there is a lot of bad in these religious cults, not to mention danger.

So you say that conditions like cancer are some sort of punishment which to any normal rational person is complete ■■■■■■■■,. a
A lot of conditions are a congenital disorder from birth and they then develop…(medical proven fact not superstitious crap, so basically some people are born with these conditions,.as are a lot of disabled people.

We both know your narrow minded theories exist we both know these theories exist about disabled people in a lot of these primitive jumbo jumbo religious cults,… so at least have the courage of your convictions to admit to them if there is nothing to be ashamed of…in other words ■■■■ or get off the pot. :unamused:

Sploom:
Its funny, you dont like being backed into a corner but its ok for you to do it to me :astonished:

:open_mouth:
You have not got the skill, the intelligence nor the ability to back me into a corner my old mate. :unamused:

Update… Sploom feeling very uneasy, he knows what he wants to say, but realises it will show up his cult as, shall we say…not very nice.

He’s scrolling through the Bible as we wait, to quote some relevant and appropriate dog crap at me rather than give me a direct honest answer…

How’s that for backing you into a corner. :sunglasses:

I already told you all disease, sickness, defects unwanted ■■■■■■ desires, ageing, death come from original sin. Now,if God had allowed these things to happen from day one, then that would mean he is an evil god,of course it would, but these things all came after the fall.
God is infinitley good but the problem is,we are not.
Imagine we had an evil god in charge of the universe…but thankfully we dont

Still no reply.
Seeing as we have our very own TN Own Personal Jesus, here’s some more Depeche Mode…whilst we wait once again for ‘The TN Messiah’ and his latest preachings
