Hi mate, firstly congratulations on your website, interesting and humerous videos, as a fellow euro driver i agree its a great job even though i’m 300 horses behind you Saw on your portugal trip you bought those internal door locks, great idea, beats strapping doors! Where did you get them and are they truck make specific or universal fit? Would be grateful for any info. Cheers and happy new year to you and Bertie.
Happy new year to you too. Im not gonna be much help here! I just randomly found them in a French service area, but can’t remember which one. Not seen them on sale in services before, workshop used to make them for us. They are truck specific as they fit into door and around handle in a certain way. I shall look at map later and see if I can work out which service it was.
Yes switchy where’s part 3 of your video, Did berty not make it out unscathed alive or did some Porto steal him from the truck ?
It’ll be up at end of week I hope! I lost yet another memory card but to my great relief it turned up this evening in a very obvious place I’d not thought to look!

That happens half the time. The other half, you put it somewhere safe so it doesn’t get lost and forget where you put it. It’s usually somewhere so safe that it doesn’t surface ever again. At least that’s what happens to me
Maybe Berty should be data controller? Just a thought
Best thing ive bought for ages, no straps to get in the way, seen them in Ressons,on the A1.
There’s a few French services that stock them.
I know for sure Macon trucks top does and ids in Calais might be worth a look
Thanks for the info fella’s, will keep a look out when in france.
I saw these for sale in the truckstop just outside immingham the other week!
I am here: maps.google.com/maps?ll=53.312185,-3.465045
Not sure if they are the same ones, but they used to sell internal door locks at Sunbilla truck stop north of Pamplona in the Basque country in Spain, different types for each cab type.
My worry for ratchet straps at night and there is a fire you will have no time to get out, by the time you have woken up, if the smoke has not killed you, or if you are parked alone, and nobody to help you.
Try setting an alarm clock for an early hour, wear a blind fold, and time yourself how long it takes to exit the cab.
Come on Toby stop scaremongering. If you’re that worried keep a knife of pair of siccssors to hand to cut the strap. But even so I reckon even without that I’m sure most of us could be out in under a minute, after all we all could operate a ratchet strap blindfold. If anything I reckon it would take you longer to get out with these little door locks.

ive got those and they seem ok. i use them in a volvo and although the pack gives you a allen key on the volvo you will need a hex screwdriver.
