A low bridge not in tom tom

For info for anyone using tom tom sat nav and driving in Swindon, when checking a route I found my tom tom was trying to take me under a 14’9 bridge on the A3102 Wooten Bassett road. Seemed to think I would be ok going under when my dimensions are set to 15’10. Only knew about the bridge on that road from tipping at Iceland the other day.

You did check the details of the route with your truckers atlas before you set off, didn’t you?

Yep. Hence why I found it and posted it on here for info for everyone else who uses tom tom.

Mine doesn’t recognise the low bridge on the A454 in Wolverhampton.

The unit is not all that old either. (One of the mispriced ones from Very)

At least you were professional and competent enough to check it and notice it.
I bet some of the Sat nav totally reliant crew would just have brayed on right through it …‘‘Cos T’sat nav said it was ok duh’’ :unamused:

To be honest I didn’t look at my route, but noticed a sign at the traffic lights diverting via the A41. (I think). I think that you can divert just before that bridge, however when having delivered 8 cars and only had 3 on under the pillar height (13’3") it sent me under the bridge despite being set at 4.95m
