Back in the late 70’s/early 80’s before the Ipswich by-pass was built,we used to drive through the edge of town past Cranfields flour mill and past the football ground in Portman Road.

Behind Cranfields there was quite often an orange coloured Mack with a stepframe tilt owned by a Danish company,on Danish plates,now does anyone else remember seeing it,who the driver was (I assume he was a local lad) and more importantly,any pictures■■?

Now,I know it’s a long shot but maybe someone on here will know.

I did that route more than a few times back then, vaguely remember the truck, but thats about it. I do remember Bobby Robson (manager of Town then) walking out into the street from the club restaurant…he got a blast of airhorns I got a wave. Not much help I know :confused:

Can’t help you with that one at the moment Keith but will ask around some of the older drivers who were based down there.
