Interesting machine, seems a bit slow and dithery tho. No doubt Trucknets resident manual handling correspondent would do a better job even with his geriatric back
Jeez, can you imagine how long a 45ft box would take to handball off at that rate?!

I’m ignoring that bit of his post. Fires only burn if you feed them.

Because Carryfast spews that much rubbish and false information he quite frankly deserves anything that comes his way.
That robot’s taking away a drivers job.

But the robot doesn’t need manual handling training, a smoke break, a tea break, a talking-garbage-with-whoever-will-listen-break, and it won’t try to sue you if it bursts a hydraulic hose.
So do you reckon that when unloading a full container, the average driver (50+ and overweight) is going to maintain a constant pace that would outstrip that of the machine? It’s already knocking spots off most people I’ve ever worked with
I’d say this kind of menial-work job-taking is exactly what the industry needs, and let the “driver” just “drive” surely?

It’s going to struggle to get it all onto 2 pallets!

Yes as to start with it’s not really a drivers job and people employed to empty trailers by hand can be very fast, often because it’s rarely left to a single person. The technology will speed up and it will happen tho

It’s getting ready for driverless trucks.
Star down under.:

Motorcycle riding robot from 6 years ago… probably not cheaper than a human driver…yet

This kind of load is very rarely left to the driver - even on short sea containers, where getting in the back was the norm for many years, we didn’t handball cartons like that. Sofas, yes. Using manual pump trucks, yes. But even we knew where to draw the line, mileage paid and therefore keen as [zb] to get moving again as we were.
What you really wanted for big handball jobs was a team, preferably not made up of locals. British handballers take forever, precisely because of the whole ■■■ break/tea break/fiddle with phone break scenario. East European handball teams however…job done.
