98% Hazard Perception and 97% multiple Choice PASS!

Hi guys, (and Pete!)

Just to let you know I had my Driver Theory Test and passed. Well, not just passed, I blew it out of the water if I say so myself

I was one of those guys that got caught up in the middle of Covid19 lockdown.

I was just starting the process then it all happened. I contacted the office and they were a bit flustered as they had so much new information to try and absorb but told me not to worry, they were aware and everything would be sorted. True to their word, Tracey phoned me with new log-in details for the study and said they will remain active right up to my Theory test date.

I had my medical and Theory Test with Pete and cannot rate it highly enough. Especially through this very unusual time. My intention was to continue with Pete for the practical but unfortunately, work commitments have meant I will have to go with someone closer to home.

Pete, please pass on my thanks to Tracey and let her know just how much I appreciated her calm and ā€˜no nonsenseā€™ approach.

Guys, if yourā€™e thinking of doing this trucking thing, I can highly recommend Pete Smythe for the medicals and the Theory Test training. You need to study. You need to use the guides and information Pete provides. Use it and youā€™ll pass. Trust me, you wonā€™t pass if you donā€™t do the study!

Thanks Peteā€¦ And tell Tracey thank you from me for dealing with all my phone calls in such a calm and professional manner.

Dave S.

Hi Dave, great to hear you passed. Congratulations!

Iā€™m hoping to send off for my provisional tomorrow. Then on to find a training provider and book my theory. Just out of interest, which resources did you use for the theory? Was it the DVSA books or something more custom from Peter Smythe?

Hi Dave. Good to hear from you and congratulations on your theory passes. Sorry to hear youā€™re unable to continue with us but all the best with your new trainer. Hope it goes well.

Thanks for your kind comments. If you could pm your ā€œrealā€ name, then I can pass this on to Tracey.

Take care, Pete

Hi. We dont use DVSA books - though they are great for those folks who will sit and study (thatā€™s not the majority). We use an online system which utilises all the question bank, examples of hazard perception and training for Mod 2 - case studies. In addition to this, we offer a day in the classroom where the answers to the questions are explained. Itā€™s important that you know the answers. But itā€™s also good for the future to understand the reason why the answer is the answer.

Those who live a great distance from us do occasionally attend for the day, but many rely on the online training.

We also have a thoroughly experienced, trained and qualified trainer working in the Customer Service Team and he would be able to provide telephone support where required. Simply ask for Paul. In his absence, leave a message with another member of staff. They will locate a trainer who will respond asap.

Hope this helps, Pete

Itā€™s all online with Pete Smythe.

Itā€™s like a cross between videos, books, documentaries, soft tests and official tests. Itā€™s a lot more than a highway code book.

Some of the questions I got asked on the test were quite tricky (there was one right answer but if you hadnā€™t studied it would be easy to choose the wrong answer)

You may hear tales about thereā€™s only one obvious right answer. Nonesense. Thereā€™s some quite subtle questions that are easy to miss (hence my 98% and not 100%)

The Theory training through Pete Smythe is multi levelled.

The training works on several levels obviously designed to cope with different learning styles (I have a child with dyslexia so understand the need for visual, written, and verbal learning styles).

The material caters for all learning styles seamlessly. Itā€™s very easy to choose the learning style that suits you.

I did some sessions with my daughter (sheā€™s 12) and she was scoring just as high as me with her dyslexia. She was achieving such high scores Iā€™ve spoken to her teachers about this learning style.

You can choose written, verbal and visual or use them all.

Itā€™s a very clever learning system pretty much guaranteeing a pass if you put the learning time in.
