Since when have the police been enforcing WTD rules?
Drivers often say “VOSA told me” or “VOSA told my boss”
What they really mean is they have gullible written on their foreheads and listen to other gullible drivers in cafes, waiting rooms and truckstops. I have heard them at the bar in Rugby, each one coming up with a more ridiculous story, my part in this is I agree with them and try to hide the affliction in my eye to the bloke behind

No idea.
It happened, so the Police must do as well as VOStApo.

That’s what I said to him, not sure what he said but if you’d just been sick, you’d think the pig would be a bit less of a [zb].
Hmmmm… If this ‘someone’ you know has the same view of the police officer before he even opened his mouth, I am not surprised he failed the attitude test and paid the price !

Cool, thanks for your input.
I pulled into a layby where Vosa was doing checks because I was two minutes over my four and a half hours and asked if I could park there.
I was told they wont bother you for up to 15 minutes over your time as long as it’s not a regular thing. They said they needed the layby for pulling other vehicles and instructed me to go up to the next service area at Pease Pottage,5 minutes further on.
However,I did get the copper there to sign my printout which he did with no problem.
I’ve never been pulled by VOSA but have been pulled on my motorbike three times by the police, and I always find that calling them officer and yes sir no sir three bags full sir usually gets you on your way in seconds.

I’d like to know who Police’s the Police?
i’d guess that would be the IPCC
i went 10 minutes over on my run up to scotlandshire last week. got stuck in mud outside the punters house (i was fine while loaded, but as soon as the weight came off the rear end i was struggling, and no diff lock to help. done 2 printouts and wrote explanation on the back. one to keep in my diary and one to hand in next time my card is downloaded. only been over once before, and that was by 6 minutes, trying to reach a lone female stranded in a dangerous location. did the same then, and the fleet manager was happy enuf that it was a valid reason.

I went 7 minutes over yesterday due to a bit of traffic, I’ve wrote on the back of the printout, will vosa be really botherd! First time over drive timeVOSA are only interested if it keeps happening or you do not make an explanation
Watch out for the company that checks the tachos because it often happens that you get an infringement because they failed in their duty to read the manual explanation
Failed in their duty? Awww come on, that’s a bit strong isn’t it?
Any decent analysis company will still bring this infringement to the company’s attention so that the company can deal with it as they see fit. This may be a case of the TM chooses to ignore it, or chooses to have a chat with the driver and just make sure it was unforeseen and unexpected circumstances etc
In reality - when it comes to digital, the analysis company likely never sees the printouts - they just get the digital data, in which case of course the infringement is still raised.
As for the OPs original question. Carry the printout for 28 days then hand it in and don’t worry about it. Make sure you have written why, what, where and when just to be sure all bases are covered.

Good guess, you’re correct.
dualflags:
never write on tacho as vosa once told me that by doing so you are admitting the said infringment so do not write on tachos
You really do get sound advice on this forum at times
