Looks a bit claustrophobic, any inside pics?

We had these Sprinters. The one on the right was brill, Proper behind the seats, walk through bunk with under bed storage. Night heater/ curtains etc. The pod one was comfy in the spring, but once you were up there. You had to stay there. Was mare if you needed a pee in the night. They fitted a night heater, but fitted it badly, so never used it. Too cold in the winter. :unamused:

Yup, that’s the same as the one we had. Really was an excellent cab by small truck standards. We also had a MAN TGL with a similar size cab, and possibly the comfiest seat I’ve ever sat in. Both excellent trucks which gave us no trouble in over 650,000kms, and I would buy (and drive) either of them again tomorrow.

Our company uses DAF LF’s with Thatcher single and double bunk cab conversions which we use throughout the EU.
You can stand up in the double and there is plenty of storage in overhead and underbunk lockers where we usually put our clothing and entertainment gear and put our food boxes and cooking gear in the back. The only thing that cuts down space is fridges but we get round this by putting them on the lower bunk when double manned and yes, you do get cabin fever after a few days like a run to Romania or Sweden.

They must be the ones I’ve seen.

This BTW must be the first time on a Trucknet forum that someone’s said something in praise of Thatcher! :grimacing:

It’s ok, you can come out from behind the sofa, the cab conversions are made by HATCHER :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:

   ‘Walk through’ ? … that cab is so small you couldn’t even stand bent double, let alone ‘Walk’ and you would only have to slide over to the bed, which looks about 12" wide

I have a ‘Walk through’ sleeper, my cab is 8’6 wide, behind my front seats there is walking room containing a fridge, 3 cabinets and a TV section on one side, on the other is a heating system that heats the floor and sleeping area with one small and one large wardrobe (both heated). It takes me 3 steps stading my full 6’1" to get from the driving seat to the 3/4 sized bed (3’6" wide).
That van does NOT have a 'walk through cab

This American is in london in a taxi.
He look out of the window, and say’s “What’s that building there?”
The taxi driver say’s, “The Bank of England.”
The American say’s “Back in the States, we have banks ten time’s bigger then that.”
A little futher on, the American sees Tower Bridge, and say’s “We have bridge’s ten time’s bigger than that.”
Suddenly the American spies a buliding, with a lot of people standing outside looking dumb, and he say’s “See that lil’ ol’ building there, we have one ten time’s bigger than that.”
Taxi driver say’s “I’m not surprised, that’s a lunatic asylum.”

Sounds like you’ve gone native Pat.

:unamused: Not everyhing HAS to be massive mate. 2 steps to me is walking. From the dash to the bunk is 2 steps. There is a gap wide enough to stand between the seats and the bunk. I’m 5"9 and could stand comfortably in there. It was more than adequate for a decent week away. Thanks for your input .

Puddlejumper and Gogan would you be able to email me some pics of said big cabbed 7.5 tonners to put up on the blog please? www.truckblog.co.uk and my email address is ben @ truckblog .co.uk

loading at a cigarette filter factory in Germany 2004-ish, it was as long as my artic!

Mr 141
You already have the Double cab version of the DAF LF which I drive, in the EST colours posted on the July 17th 2011. Ours are just in boring white and not sign written.
The Single cab is half the height but keeps the depth.
