60 hr work limit, just to confirm!

I know this has been done to death, but I’m still not 100% of this.

If I understand it correctly, it is ok to work 6 consecutive 12hr days between weekly rests if the days are spread across two fixed weeks. (72hrs total).

This would be a one off. I’ve been/will be averaging around 12 hours a day for Sunday of last week and each day this week and I want to confirm I’ll be ok to work this Friday too.

Cheers, Nez

Here’s the way it generally understood to work, someone may come along and explain it better but here’s the jist of it. When you start work AFTER a weekly rest, you then have 144 hours before you need another weekly rest. Doesn’t matter what it spans over. Just make sure you have a weekly rest after 144 hours and you’ll be fine.

Just to add (after reading your post again), it totals 72 hours on duty time, this is not neccaserily a one off, you can repeat this. Assuming of course that the total of WORK DONE in the week does not exceed 60 hours. So from that 72 hours duty, you can deduct POA and breaks to arrive at your actual working time, which as you know should not exceed 60 hours. That make sense?

For the WTD it’s 60 hours working time in a fixed week not between weekly rest periods

Thanks, no POA and only breaks are a 45. Thanks Tacho, I thought it was ok as I’m not going to be working more than 60hrs in either last weeks or this weeks fixed week.

Cheers

As long as you don’t go over 60 hours working time in any fixed week you’re fine to do 6 consecutive days at 12 hours per day, as you know you will need to start a weekly rest period no later than 144 hours (six 24 hour periods) from the end of your last weekly rest period, and obviously you may need to watch your weekly/fortnightly driving time and ensure you have the required weekly rest periods.
