I know it’s already been posted in the Old Vehicle section,But can I remind everyone that it’s the 41st TPR tomorrow, Sunday, and it would be nice to see as many people as possible while on it.
3 TN members are taking part, Big Al, Killsville and myself in various vehicles.
Full details can be found on 2 threads:

Come and see some fine old machinery, and even the weather is looking good for the whole route.
Ken.
Where does this run start these days i remember it used to run from the old bus depot in Manchester with the stop at Harry Ramsdens halfway then on to Harrorgate to finish. Going back a few years like but i always remember winning the Military Vehicle prize 3 yrs running with an old GMC.
Hopefully I’ll get some pics Denis.
And it starts at Birch Services.
Ken.
sorry about that should have spotted the original post. But why doesn’t it use all the old roads any more. Boring as hell chugging along in a 1943 GMC down the super slab, it was always much more fun to bomb through towns and villages on those old off road tyres and to wrstle the steering with a 'round the corner crash box.
this is what we had.not these actual ones but i will give you an idea.

pretty much like this but with a winch mounted on the front bumper alongside 4 jerry cans in carriers.
Plus one of these

and another like the above but a short wheel base with a wrecker set in the back like this.

One of these but again wit hfull twin Holmes wrecking gear (ex swiss army)

The Jeep.

A Dodge Weapons carrier.

A Dukw (duck)

And a Schwimmwagen

again these arent the actual ones we owned but just examples.
As posted previously,I’ll be in JMU 266K, an Atki Borderer in Hoyer colours.
Ken.
Sorry to miss you but i didnt manage to get to Birch till 9.30 and most had already gone by then. Just a couple of International artics left, and my dad had gone in his old Bedford Os so i came home. Hope it was a good one and you can post the pics of the event.

Met Killsville and Big Al as well.
Unfortunately I’m now off to bed as I’m up at 0200 to set off for Magor, but when i get back on Tuesday,I’ll post my pics in the Old Lorries forum.

Good to meet you too Ken.
At least you got back nice and early! I had a two hour slog back over Blubberhouses to Preston in the Borderer before jumping in the car for the 90 minute drive home! t was a bit of a shock after the luxury of the FH!

Come on Andy - how can it have been a slog with an empty trailer?? You must be getting soft!

An empty trailer that weighs 10 tonnes Chris!
I am soft - remember, I’m a Fuller 610 man, not David Brown!!!

Give over - there’s not 10 tons in that tilt - 6 at most! (and probably less!)
(I don’t think you’ve ever recovered from the trauma of borrowing my test trailer
)
True, the 6-speed David Brown box is crap behind the 220 ■■■■■■■ - you just have to take it right up to the red line every time to overcome the ratio gaps, so that it drops straight onto the next gear at 1500 rpm, i.e. max torque!

According to Kevin it does. (Or should I say according to the weighbridge!)

Ah, 5.5 tons unit, 4.5 tons trailer!
Now posted my pics in the old time forum.

No! Kevin still says it’s 10 for the trailer! Unless the scales were lying!

He’s having you on! Even Bowker 110 came in at under 10 tons!
