Again fixed week, you can actually drive 58 hours between rest periods if driven over a weekend, fri-weds.
Your gonna have to provide the link now fileep!
Or break it down day by day!
Fileep:

For Dessy
Fri 9
Sat 10
Sun 10
Mon 10
Tues 10
Weds 9
=58
Your link above donât work! But I did read your post at the top of the thread!
I would love to see the enforcement authorities reaction to that working week!
Can you not do another 10 on either the Friday or the following Wednesday?
Fileep:
2X in a fixed week monday-sunday! If your week starts on a Friday you can do:
9 Fri
10 sat
10 Sun
10 Mon
10 Tues
9 Weds
correct pal!
Pirate:
I thought a week was the period between two weekly rest breaks, regardless of what day of the week it starts on? If you work Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues, Wed then you can only increase your daily driving time to 10hrs on any two of those days. The same as if you work Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat. Or maybe Iâm wrong
Although some people sometimes refer to you âworking weekâ as the period between weekly rest periods a week for tachograph regulations and the RT(WT)R starts at 00:00 Monday and ends at 24:00 Sunday or midnight Sunday to midnight Sunday if you prefer.
You can have three reduced daily rest periods between weekly rest periods and two extended driving shifts in a fixed week.
youâd be a pretty [zb] lorry driver if you couldnât.
The answer is âŚof course you can. The question is âdo we need driver training?â

If you do the work I mentioned above then thats your 10 hour drives done for 2 weeks, sat & sun one week then mon tues in the next week. You would have to wait until the next Monday before you could do another 10.
dar1976:
Yeah I always thought that extended driving and reduced rests both were carried out between weekly rest periods. So maybe thatâs 2 of us that have got it wrong
Itâs two of you who are wrong. Article 4(i) of EC561/2006 defines a week as âthe period of time between 00.00 on Monday and 24.00 on Sundayâ, and this is the relevant period when it comes to extending your driving time to 10h.

Just read the latest GV262 on the subject.Iâm not certain itâs clear enough on this particular point to say for certain whether a Sat Sun Mon Tue 10 hour drive is possible.
It might be technically, the fixed week is Monday 0000 to Sunday 2400, but it seems to go against the spirit of it.
Correct and im sure if you had a serious accident it would go against you

For goodness sake - the rules say you can do two 10hr driving days in each fixed week. Thatâs the beginning and end of it - there are quite enough real rules without having to abide by an additional invented set.
GV262 even has diagram example of a âbetween weekly restsâ with 4 x 10hr drives in it. Page 19.
I think there are areas where the rules are difficult to interpret (where a working day crosses between two fixed weeks, for example), but this 10hr day stuff is not one of them.
20 years Iâve been driving, donât need no snot nosed schoolkid teaching me to â â â â eggs! Driver CPC my arse!
Hmmmm, maybe not!
Its quite surprising at the so called amount of professional drivers on here who are meant to know this stuff from day one but yet dont and even the doubters who are arguing as to what is right and wrong. Just goes to show there are far many more plonkers out there than you think. About 3 or 4 people out of the 2 pages worth of replies have the correct answer. A fixed week is from 00.00 Mon - 23.59 Sun. You can LEGALLY DRIVE 4 x 10 hour drives on the trot if you did Sat-Sun-Mon-Tues. Anything else outwith that sequence wouldnt work ie:- Sun-Mon-Tues-Wed as the Sun is classed from PREVIOUS WEEK and the Mon-Tues-Wed are classed from this/New week. It goes for the same as the 90 hour a fornight (Tin openers at the ready with a tin of worms). If you are sitting at 89hr on a FRI when you have finished your shift you have LEGALLY only 1hr driving to do before 23.59 Sun. I would LOVE to read peoples cards on this forum. Bet there would be ÂŁ00000âs worth of fines at the ready!!!

i agreeâŚalthough how many on here do you think honestly ever near to a full card!!
Happysack and scottishcrruiser, i am one of those drivers who never get near their 90 hrs driving in two weeks. In fact right now in the past 14 days have done 23hrs.
Im 24 and have only had a full time job doing night trunking with a small bit of agency between leaving the army and getting this job. Im on the look out for something a lot more challenging as this is boring the â â â â off me.
Iâm glad somebody has asked about this as i wouldnt have had a clue before now.
Thank you posters for some enlightenment

whyâ â ? Itâs all legal!
I have just started writing a new DCPC course - âDRIVER ESSENTIALS - THE SPIRIT OF THE LAW - Learn what the rules âreallyâ meanâ
yes another thread demonstrating just how misguided a lot of people are and the DCPC is most certainly needed.
I stand by to be shot down (as all trainers should be)
@Happysack, youâre right.
I do jobs from Lancs to Kent and multi drops from West Wales to Dorset with hardly a hold up and I would be pushed to get over nine hours driving done each day.
In fact, Iâve only come close to my fortnightly limit once in five years with my current firm.
