Ok, so done Euro runs on several occasions , and never had to worry about bridge heights. However, I
Got given a last minute job out to Holland, pulling a 4.7m trailer. I pointed out to the haulier that there was a 4m height Limey after France, and they told me that they had submitted a route to RDW, for a permit, and that all should be ok. I’ve now had my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd bridge strike!!! Albeit only grazing the undersides whilst it was loaded. When I tipped I did phone them, to say I really didn’t think that it would fit anywhere unladen, got asked to try. It didn’t, even with suspension dropped fully. Anyone got any ideas how I may get it back, I’m currently just outside Born, just off the A2. I be got a couple of ideas myself, although they may be a bit drastic, and I’d rather not cut and run leaving the trl here.

they routed you with a max height . that should have been made for all routes that you would be on much as wide loads are routed throw the ball in their court get paid by the hour sittin waiting for them to sort the mess out
That’s exactly what I’m doing, currently enjoying some of the excellent produce of Trappiste monks, although I really do need to be back by early Saturday a.m latest. Moral of this story is, anything over 4.5m should never venture further than France! And even then you’ll be pushing it.

na be honest anything over 4m shouldn’t leave the yard … enjoy anyway if all else fails sale the trailer buy a cheap 4mt job and tell em it shrunk in the rain
Why did it have to go in a 4.7mtr?
Couldnt it have gone on a 4.0 or got transhipped somewhere?
I be the Dutch gave you some funny looks!
Load height, it really should have gone on one of those euro diddy wheel jobbies.
Think it’d be going back as a flatbed

If its done right it should only bolts to strip it unless you got one that’s had the welder thrown at it

That is excellent stuff, enjoy it, and beware that some of it can be as high as 15% ABV !!
In fact, would they sell you a few barrels of it to get your weight up again? Everyone wins then!
