31 million mp security package

What! You are quoting Graduate employment stats from 2022 when trying to refute a lie Johnson told in 2020 about the total employment figures.

He was referring to trade. And there should be no trade border, nor any border between Britain and NI. There is now.

He followed a bit of the science for a while. He diverged from it too. Remember “eat out to help out”?
You don`t get off a speeding charge by saying " i was under the limit some of the time".

Hillingdon Hospital… my error. A poor choice by me.
I should have mentioned the 40 new hospitals he would build and left it at that.

The current covid enquiry who still haven`t seen his WhatsApps. I seem to remember you saying, on another thread, how easy it is to recover them? Still waiting…

So? What is that about?
Johnson was found by the Commons Standards Committee (Y’know composed of members of all parties) that he mislead Parliament repeatedly. He blustered etc and ran away rather than stand in front of his electorate again.

is this not the link you posted Boris Johnson makes false employment claim for ninth time in Parliament - Full Fact maybe you would like to take a look at the date of the article particularly the bit that says 2022 and the prime minsters questions the day before the article ie 2022

are you referring to the reduction in checks between scotland wales and england? or his earlier plans that he tried to put into place but was rejected by northern island

i fail to see your point about help out eat out unless your saying that he shouldn’t of tried to stimulate the economy that every single pm before him repeatedly destroyed the economy by selling of British assets and turning it into a one trick pony of service industry. that isn’t his fault he was dealing with the hand he was dealt.

You mean the ones he said he would build in the next decade and started to build and the ones he started to improve after dealing with Brexit and an unprecedented pandemic in the few months afterwards before he was replaced by Lizie.

i belive my comment was that if they existed they would be easy to recover

i forgot to quote your comment but for clarity here it is…

From that link;
During Prime Minister’s Questions
on 20 April, Boris Johnson said there are “more people in work than there were before the pandemic.”
This is false."
As I first said Johnson accepted it was wrong and promised to correct the record, he never has.
Even he says he was wrong.. (eventually)…why are you saying otherwise?

He said no border in the Irish Sea. (Between NI and Britain) There is one there now. He and you can blame anything you like. His promise was an impossible one.

Did the science say “eat out to help out” was a good idea? No, it didn’t. It was patently a bad idea.
So his actions went against the science. QED.
The consequences of that idea was a following wave of infection that cost money and kept production down and delayed eventual recovery.
Oh, and it killed people too.

Which ones are they?

Johnson told the enquiry they were lost. He never said there weren’t any! Are you inventing excuses for him now?

And the rest seem nonsensical to me.
Johnson was found by the Standards Committee to have misled the HoC. He was at the enquiry and did all he could to defend himself.
Are you again inventing some different set of circumstances?

This is so sad that this is necessary, but at the end of the day it is a risk of the job.

I would suggest that those who are elderly, infirm, or unable to defend themselves effectively should step aside. Candidates being put forward at election should be put through a strict fitness test and take self defence lessons. If they fail, they can’t be an MP. This strategy follows the KISS principle.

Successive governments have facilitated the demise in Britain’s security by allowing any old trash in.

Currently not calling for an immediate ceasefire to the blatant ethnic cleansing in Gaza and the West Bank fortifies my view that many Politicians have brought these security issues on themselves. In my opinion the tax payer shouldn’t have to foot a further £31 million.

So, is increased immigration is responsible for higher levels of violent crime?
https://www.macrotrends.net/countries/GBR/united-kingdom/crime-rate-statistics
Actually, violent crime is decreasing over time.

So, if they under threat of violence from a particular group, be it large or small, politicians should comply to avoid harm?
Give in, surrender, to the violent and the bullies.

£31 million. Less than 50pence for everyone in the UK.

NB I haven’t commented on the rights nor wrongs of Gaza and ceasefires. I am commenting on giving our MPs all of them, whether I agree or not with their views protection from harm.

Read my last sentence, franglais.

I did. I have again.
What is your point?

I would have thought the last sentence speaks for itself.

It says you think that an extra £31m is too much for us to have a Parliament that can operate free from threats. Or at least with lower threat than now.

No, that’s your take on it.

If I am wrong then please feel free to explain my error.

Yes, only people who were “on that balcony” should stand for election. Great news for the truck driving fraternity :+1:

I guess you’re old enough to remember Lib Dem leader Paddy “Pants Down”, former RM, SBS and SIS? I have a recollection that he bare-handedly dealt with a knife-weilding attacker, but I can’t find any corroboration online

Where did I say it was “too much to have a parliament that can operate free from threats?”

Did you use those exact words ? No you didn`t.
That is what I took from your opinion that £31 was too much.

Or are you saying that the extra security is needed, but you know a bloke who could do it cheaper?

I remember John Prescott dealing harshly with someone!

Your subjective opinion has already made your mind up of what I meant.

Yeah! But as I recall it he just threw a malenky tolchock or two at the veck. Perfectly understandable though, if you’re a northern bloke and someone eggs you, it’s only fair they should be prepared for a physical response, even if you are Deputy PM

Well, I am sorry if I misunderstanding you. As I said please tell me where I am going wrong.

Surely a man of your intelligence can decipher that simple sentence, that the taxpayer shouldn’t have to foot the bill. It’s not rocket science but to a very subjective person you will read into it what you choose.
