2013 Stralis 450 high crank case pressure

Hi,
Looking at picking up a late model 450 stralis that apparently has high crank case pressure, they have replaced the head gasket but no difference.
Anyone had this before?
Cheers,
Nick

Crankcase pressure is usually blow-by.

Piston rings or liners are ■■■■■■…

There is a crank case oil filter that runs across the back of the engine check it’s been changed, as these are quite expensive around £100 quid from Iveco maybe it’s been missed at service interval.
Can make quite a difference when changed out

Hi,
Thanks for the replies, seems after i purchased it i got false information.

Just picked it up and it has low coolant and high oil level with the water going in the sump.
It has had a new head gasket so its not that, any other ideas before I start going into it?
only thing that comes to mind is oil cooler or air compressor?

Anyone had this before?

Thanks,
Nick

Possibly any one of the following;

Cracked/warped block
Cracked/warped head
Damaged oil cooler
Head bolts not torqued down properly

The list goes on.

Do you have history of work that’s been carried out, at a reputable dealer?

No history at all other than being told the head gasket was replaced, didn’t fix it so they traded it for a new one.
It only has 90,000kms which appear genuine.

If the head gasket was replaced by Bodgit & Run, that means little.
Pressure test on cooling system?
Compression check on cylinders?

Havnt tested anything yet but it runs perfect.
I was hoping it might have been a common problem.
Will do some checks tomorrow and report back

Piston liner seals? Whatever it is it isn’t going to be a cheap fix.

Had a cracked piston liner so rebuild it is.
