2012.......Any where unusual and how far?

This usually gets asked around the end of the year. Its a good excuse for some light hearted willy waving and bragging rights, so…

How far did we all get this year? Any where really exotic or off the beaten track? Did any one get to any of the “Stahns” way out east of Moscow? Or head south down into North Africa? How about right OOp North to the Arctic Circle?? Or how about some of the Mediterranean / Greek / Italian islands!..Cyprus or Malta or the Canaries even!

I guess the M/E sellers get the gold medal for distance travelled etc, especially for going via Turkey - Egypt - Saudi!

Any pics as evidence would be greatly appreciated!

I went to Sicily. I also went to Romania, all over Italy, Right down to Algeciras. Not bad for a van driver!

I’ll start us off then…

As well as all the usual places throughout Europe/Scandinavia, I also got to Belarus and Malta for the first time this year.
Best though, had to be the three weeks I had on the Isle of Capri. Not that far, but nice work to get paid for!

Apart from going down to the Island of Giglio of Costa Concordia fame a fair few times nowhere really of note.

A fair bit of Spain, South of France a few times, lot of Holland, bit of Germany and some UK from Inverness to Plymouth and all points inbetween

Did a trip down to Dubrovnik, Croatia & clocked up my 20th country in the last 2 years.
Furthest North I went was Oslo
South- Bari
East- Olomouc in the Czech Rep
West- Cork
Really enjoy the ‘different’ stuff

Nowhere really interesting for my work, been doing UK mostly - joys of being part time working student

But been to Czech republic with my car, and had few nice jobs to Scottish Highlands, and I love scottish highlands.

2012 started so well! Last new years day was clearing customs in Santa Cruz de Tenerife

working at 5 star luxury

3 weeks of beautifull sunshine

Drinking in crap bars

Then once back in Febuary there was a nice cold one (-12) for a week in Amsterdam

It was then off to Barca for a week soon after that then another Amsterdam subbing for me brothers firm

& that was it!!! On returning back from Amsterdam thought that is enough after 18 years of touring Europe & swapped it all for life on Culina! Since May the furthest has been Blackpool!

It was a piece of cake really, I took a ferry from Livorno, then from Palermo - Napoli! Happy days, although certain people here slated it at the time!
