we have been informed by rha that from the 13th of October there will be go slows and possible blockades in some areas in france Auvergne, bourgogne limousin and Poitou charentes it is expected the disruption will extend nationwide and they are unsure of how long it will last, its all to do with there new eco tax that’s coming in.
I thought the fact they’d set another date for its introduction, meant they’d done something to get agreement with the French farmers and hauliers.
Haven’t they changed its name to transit tax or something maybe they thought that would confuse everybody and allow for it to be introduced.
It is to force drivers to use their toll motorways.
Most of the free national roads are now weight limits.
Or go so far on them then go miles out of your way to dog leg it to the toll roads.
I used to go from Cherbourg on the coast road along the small fishing villages.
Then with a stunning view of Mont Saint Michael island and monastry.
Then avoid the tolls from Bayonne to Biaritz to the border at Spain.
At night get to the border using the weight limit roads.Cops would saw me but did nothing back then.
The restaurants on the nationals are now ruined financialy with no passing trade.
The toll road tarmac surface is smooth as a baby’ s bottom.
So quiet.
The French got fed up with the EE drivers using nationals.
Postponed indefinately, again, according to DKV
