…Lineage. Seems dreadfully low payrate.I suppose it is ideal for new licence holders

Plus another 40 quid a week allowance for irregular shift (or whatever) puts it up to £14 .40 thereabouts.
Then plus the (unusual these days ) time and a half over 39 hours.
Sounds ok to me tbf.
Then again I don’t live in a high paying area or can pick and choose good and better paid jobs…so bring on the abuse I ain’t fussed.

Yeah that’s a decent wage in my area. Even the supermarket depots are dropping their hourly rate around here now. The race to the bottom is in full flow
I would kibosh the opportunity based on hours rather than pay rate, as there is no mention of guaranteed hours and 4-on-4-off you would be working a 3.5 day week effectively. Methinks time-and-a-half may not be regularly reached.
On balance, the manouevres probably wouldn’t be too bad, the driver wouldn’t be getting involved in loading / unloading very much, but admittedly there would be a responsibility with the refrigeration aspect. All in all, the pay not too bad I would say, but it depends on the area.
The poles have been replaced with Africans , Bulgarians , Indians , young lads , women & even Iraqis from what I can see , so if wages are dropping it’s no suprise

Yes,but then, this is what we keep voting for.We get the government we deserve because we voted for them

It’s about right. Like Rob said once you add on the shift allowances and o/t after 39 hours you can earn a decent wage.
I do 4o4o nights out of heywood. It’s what you make it really. I personally keep it to 40ish hours over a spread of shifts so rarely make overtime but other lads drag the job out and come in at 48/50 hours… each to their own.
Job wise it doesn’t get much easier but it is boring… same runs on nights more or less.
Seen a lot worse advertising, wouldn’t be a bad crack if you don’t cut the job up,you can bet your planned a 48 hour week, most of these 4 on 4 off were originally so they could get the max out of the motor, gunna get 9 hours a week at time and half, like it’s been said not many pay that anymore.

Very rarely planned for 12 at Heywood on nights. Average 10. Days is multidrop so more often longer shifts.
They’re not shy giving out overtime money, as much as you want IF you want it, never asked.

I’m assume you mean we should all vote for the commies as there the party of the working class , we’ll Blair started this open border policy which pulled the rug out from under the feet of the working class , and I’ve heard nothing since from them which would make me believe stammer & his troops would be any better
Or which party are you speaking of ?
Half way down add says 6.3 weeks. Holiday plus chance to buy more and accur more with length of service.
Which sounds decent.to me.
.presuming it means 6 lots of 4 days off makes it 6 lots of 12 days off a year what’s not to like.
Everyone is different though depends on circumstances.
Some want higher wages lots hours others want less hours more time off.
Personally I’m.happy doing what do 40 hours a week set hours home every night.
Yes could maybe earn bit more working elsewhere but mean doing stupid hours which don’t need anymore .
they don’t pay sick pay…but they do offer a counselling service

Payrates have dropped over the years definitely. I got my Class2 to come out of bus driving, because HGV pay was better. And Class1 was a higher payrate than Class2…£13.80 would be associated with Class2
