2400 gbp or you need to buy a wheelbarrow.
But I guess you want it done for sod all as usual.
Speaking as somebody who has specifically obtained an O licence and put a truck on the road to specialise in exhibition work, something I have been involved in for decades, I would say that you need to be prepared to be quoted a full load rate for this job, not a groupage rate.
I could do that for you. Stanislav or Voichek would quote you a half-load rate but is it really worth missing an exhibition which may have cost £250,000 to put together for the sake of £1,500, because Stanislav or Voichek found 12 pallets of onions to put on the back which have now been detained, along with the truck and the exhibition goods by Spanish phytosanitary inspectors who dislike English onions?
I’ve heard horror stories about delicate exhibition stands which have taken the best part of a year to build and which have arrived at the show totally ruined because heavy palletised loads have been stacked on top of them.
I’ll do it, dedicated and totally professional service from beginning to end, £3,000. No offers.
need a second driver harry lol

I see you are offering your services free of charge. Very good of you. Either that or his quote has to increase to accommodate your wages.
3k!! Bet he gets it covered for 800 quid. . .
Probably, and that’s his prerogative. But in my experience, most people don’t go for that option a second time.

I guess if it was still necessary to clear the customs a la jonquera for a load from gb to spain, you could be right. It isn’t so even a non-stanislav or non-voichek would be smart to use the additional space. we do it all the time, it’s called efficiency.

If you are saying that Spain has no border controls then we are obviously talking about a different Spain.

If you don’t mind how late the exhibition goods turn up.

so how many volets are needed in a carnet from gb to spain then? I haven’t been stopped at the border yet and the load in question is happening next month, not ten years ago.
it is actually possible to unload a groupage load in a timely fashion, given that the timeframe for the exhibition load is also quite wide. unload the extra pallets at a terminal, then unload the exhibition. given that you’re an o/d, this shouldn’t really take too much explaining.

Wasn’t aware we knew each other! BTW - you should have asked what I was paying as your price was cheap compared to my normal subbies.

Teaching Granny to ■■■■ eggs comes to mind
having just sent a load out there by one of the big boys, it was 7k. although the load had to be back in london 24 hours later

On the basis that you don’t need a carnet to travel from France to the UK, I presume this means that there aren’t any Customs controls at Dover.
I wouldn’t know so I must forfeit this noble discussion. One must always run around with a half-empty trailer to avoid ■■■■■■■ off spanish phytosanitary inspectors in dover docks.

I’ll just pick up a minor point here, on the unlikely chance that we ever do business together.
You are the customer, and I tell you what the cost is. You don’t tell me how much you are paying, just as you don’t tell Tesco how much you are prepared to pay them for a pack of sausages.
