McDonald’s paper bags & polystyrene boxes & cups?
Macky D’s packaging or Kfc left overs.
Need we say anymore.
A303 east bound stuck in the lorry fire traffic if any one gives a hoop!
Stills from the automatically saved video before that issue hijacks the thread.
Do scaffolders get some sort of exemption from red routes and time limits in loading bays in London? I’ve seen several parked where anyone else would get a ticket in no time.
bubsy06:
A lorry will never take off fast enough for the poles to fall out of the back, it will stop quick enough and cause the poles to go through the cab if there is no headboard.
They’ll jump off quick if they spot a carp fishery.

That’s the problem with racism it is quite funny sometimes.
We all know that some stuff just stays put, we just never bothered to take scientific notes and write a thesis on it, otherwise we could counter some of this old rubbish.
Personally, I was too busy delivering bulk bags that never moved an inch, on a dropside lorry. Now I’m too still too busy, mainly spend my time coiling straps.
I think I read somewhere perhaps on the dcpc that a rear restraint should be made to withhold half the weight of the load ?
I think the downward force of straps can count towards rear restraint.
I thought that too about the front ward force but then they started dishing out prohibitions for load above headboard height ect .
I’m seriously considering finding another line of work, you just can’t win the way things are.
I work mainly for Builder’s Merchants and their attitude is that everything has to be done to the letter of the law to preserve their precious O licences, but they still want the same amount of stuff delivered as when we used to knock around without a care in the world, sometimes the odd bit fell over but it stayed on the lorry. Add in the funny ideas of some of the office and yard people and you might as well just send VOSA a deposit in advance.
Andyroo, just tell them they can’t have their cake and eat it. Either they want you to tear ■■■ around, or they want things done according to VOSA’s load matrix. They don’t get to have both. Period.
I do it on agency so I can’t grumble too much as I’ve got to pay the bills, it’s just almost Kafkaesque at times.
The bloke I work for (he still drives every hour he can himself, despite running the agency too) and his drivers are the only people they like to use, because we get the job done…I wonder how
I’ve had two little stints lately where they’ve hired me in to cover for drivers who have been suspended for being seen breaking the petty rules they love to enforce, that everybody breaks anyway.

I did agency work for Ramport and they just told me to park on site and don’t get in any arguments with traffic wardens. Just let them issue the ticket and leave it in the vehicle until the end of the day.
