What or who get’s banned? Is it the driver or the truck?

When I started doing lot of work from Tilbury I went into one warehouse there to load and was told that I was banned, I had never been there before so asked him to explain why. Told that my registration number was on the ban list!
My son was the regular driver of the truck before me, he had never been to Tilbury.

I did get the registration number removed from the ban list as it was added 3 years before when we didn’t even own the truck!

^^^^
It has to be the driver, surely?

well, at Southampton Docks, they have come up with a bizarre new safety certificate

you have to watch a video, then answer some questions about what you have just watched

if you get the relevant score, the truck passes the test and is awarded the certificate to enter the port

A bit like golden rules or MOQC but at least they go on the driver.

I don’t understand why it’s the truck

Safety videos/questionnaires do my nut in! All I want to know is - what does the alarm sound like? If it goes off, I’ll just follow everyone else - simples!

…If you were asked to do a load into a site that you are banned from (They know you are banned)
And when you got there you made a bit of a fuss, because the place is really very bad in all aspects.

The GM came out and recognised you, so refused to tip you and in a phone call to your boss called you evil, vile and the anti-Christ( ) And ugly, when you put your head outside the window of your lorry…
…Your employer had to divert another driver over to tip you and then you went back to depot empty(would usually have empty boxes on)…Would your employer keep you employed

I’m not sure at this present time as we’ve a new anti- Christ,in the past no you wouldn’t of lost your job,I know loads who were banned from morrisons Wakefield and were still sent in by depot, and were then banned again :open_mouth: :unamused: .
In a lot of circumstances they wanted to be banned so went out of there way to get banned, and when sent back in warned boss it was going to go off again ,and it did.
In the end they just sent certain drivers in and put the ones banned on other work
