Here’s one to begin, Robisons of Halifax at Banbury.Excellent, I remember their Ergo cabbed 6 wheeler AEC Marshal Majors which used to come to grandad’s place, just!
1 of those Marshalls passed me in the late 80s early 90s loaded uphill,he wasnt hanging about god knows what he had under the bonnet
The Marshal Major had a [usually] de-rated 760 engine with three power settings 190,212 or 223 so it would certainly roll on. Around 71/72 Robisons were operating an ex-Woodhead Marshal, maybe a F or G plate and a regular Monday night visitor to us.

i think this was a G reg someone wrote into Truck magazine and mentioned how well it went and suggested it had a V8 in it but that was quashed ,i used to see it regular on the M1 “FLYING”
Cheers Ramone
The Marshal that came into us was the original 505 powered type, the driver told me it was ex-Woodhead Bros and would have been painted maroon with self coloured body panels when owned by them. The Marshal Major appeared around 72/73 when the weight limit went up to 24 ton and the 505 was straining a bit running at that weight though a fully loaded 6 legger on livestock would’nt be far off that anyway.
Hello Folks,

re david cooper scania 124: the trucks owner is the father of r c cooper transport also from otley yorkshire, he founded the company in 2000 having previously been employed for many years at reg jefferies (jefferies of otley) before the companies downsizing. david is an owner driver, who can often be seen along the m62 corridor pulling different usually unliveried cattle trailers. if you are familiar with r c coopers trucks you will notice the liveries are identical between father and son
i have a few good pics, but not sure how to add??
Thanks JoeR580,
Uploading photo’s isn’t too difficult, so hopefully you should be able to post them without too much trouble.
If you go to the ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ section on Trucknet’s Board Index page, then select the ‘New Easy Way to Upload Photos’ thread, it explains a simple way of uploading your photos. Alternatively you can use a photo sharing website like Photobucket.
Any prob’s just drop me an e-mail via the forum.
