Yet again another cyclist dies

Firstly, and once again, how & where did I contradict anyone regarding the governments views on getting more cyclists on the road. I put this in last time & as usual, you hit the repeat button.
On horses your saying that truckers don’t act differently around horses? That proves you have lost the plot, everyone acts differently around them. I’ve said before I’ve never seen a driver of any sort failing to slow down & give horses more room & time. Maybe you didn’t in your time but they do now. Have you, or anyone else on this forum, ever seen a truck go past a horse & rider as fast & as close to the cyclist in the oft repeated vid, you know the one, where the cyclist tries to throw himself under the tipper & fails.
I know you want cyclist on the path, I even know why you think it would work. It’s not going to happen. Build a bridge, get over it.

South Yorkshire Police:
A cyclist was hit over the head by two men armed with table legs.

The 42-year-old was riding along Dale Road, Rawmarsh, Rotherham,
when a man jumped in front of him, causing him to swerve and almost
fall off his bike.

An altercation then followed, during which the cyclist was struck over
the head by two men carrying table legs.

Carrfast you really need to take a chill pill regarding cyclists…It’s not healthy man.

I could say the same about your obvious views regarding truck drivers in many cases.

Touché       .

My view on truck drivers is based on what I have seen over the years and what I see everyday on our roads.
I do not have a hatred towards them the way you do cyclists.I mean who in their right mind would want cyclists riding on footpaths.
My views on truck drivers is there are plenty good ones but unfortunately there are also too many bad ones that give us all a bad reputation with their bad driving and bad attitudes.
Just because I have been driving trucks for over 30 years does not mean I believe the sun shines out of every truck drivers back side.It seems a lot on here do though.

rob k. Is it possible for you to actually make a sensible comment or give your opnion on something or can you just reply with stupid childish comments?

Pathetic. My youngest child can give a better reply than you and he has never driven a lorry!

Firstly in the case of ‘some’ truck drivers, such as in the case of maintaining seperation distances etc, I’d agree that they ‘can’ be absolute idiots.

However that’s not the same thing as applying an indiscriminate view,in the case of the cyclist v large vehicle conflict issue.Bearing in mind that the issue also involves buses amongst other large vehicle.Or for that matter allowing that stupid view to cloud judgement concerning all collisions involving trucks regardless of the circumstances. You’ve clearly shown which of those groups you fit into in previous posts in which case your credibility is shot and hopefully you’ll never be in a place where any driver would be relying on your judgement in such a case.

However if it’s a question of the sanity of the arguments then I’d think that there’d be a bigger question mark in that regard over anyone who’s suggesting that it’s safer to keep the status quo going,of trucks and buses mixing in close proximity to cyclists on the road, rather that get cyclists off the roads and onto the pavements wherever and whenever possible and certainly in the case of the already existing shared pedestrian/cyclist provision. :unamused:
