Metcalfes of Thirsk recovery trucks lined up at their garage mid 80’s, also some Stobarts at their Carlisle H.Q taken around about mid 80’s, remember asking Stobarts if they would like to see the pictures when I had them developed but they said they were not interested a truck was a truck, now look at them the have their own photographer and all their publicity products. regards prattman.

Hello prattman
Excellent photos of Stobart’s lorries marra
I’m surprised at there response as they would always welcome photos from truck spotters
As for their own photographer (David Mulholland), they only employ him because he went to school with William & Andrew.
He also runs a subcontracting fleet to Stobarts and is very good mates with both William Stobart & Andrew Tinkler hence the photography deal
Kindest regards

here’s a couple more lined up, Andrew Newtons taken about 20 years ago at Tyne Dock and Alex Smiles taken in their yard at Sunderland a number of years ago. regards prattman.

Even Iveco’s look smart in Stobarts old livery.
