Jenson,

Interesting photo.

I knew about PHH, and I think CELWOOD was a joint venture with Woodcock’s? But what is the company with ‘Yorkshire’ in the livery?

Was this another part of the CEL empire?

Yes Brit ocean was part of the CEL group, the reason hes got Yorkshire on his roof was because he was a subbie from Yorkshire.

These are off Frank Hiltons photo stream on flickr frank hilton | Flickr

Its a subbies wagon that runs out of Widnes

Nice one cheers for that

Thats an old style private plate, you didn’t have to wait for the right year to use a letter back then, unlike now when you have to wait for 61s to be issued before you can go for an ■■61 ■■■ private plate.

So that could be earlier in the nineties.

Don’t think that’s right nsmith. Iirc you couldn’t make a vehicle appear newer than it was, even then.

firstly, which picture are you referring to?

and, secondly, you are incorrect with what you said about using private plates, as goaty said, you are not, and never have been, allowed to make a vehicle look ‘newer’ than what it actually is with a registration number
