Wrocław (PL) - Oostende (BE)

amended route has weak bridge, 30t, so it’s out of question.

Go as I told you at the first time, and when you’ll be stopped tell (very unlikely) tell, that your polish friend told you that Wroclaw is closed for transit traffic, so you thought that this “nie dotyczy…” sign means that you can go if you have delivery in Wroclaw and you sould be all right.

Go to the main Wroclaw Junction (with this vintage fuel stations on the motorway) and follow the national road 5 until second flyover… Then follow signs for airport.

Although I had already left by the time you posted about the weak bridge on the amended route Doty2009 phoned me with the information so I went the original route this week with no problems. I did make one slight alteration where I left the motorway at the Kąty Wrocławskie exit and took the 347 from there instead of the Pietrzykowice exit, no reason other than I just wanted a look and the opportunity to drive through a place called Sadkow was too good to miss. :stuck_out_tongue:  When you leave Prologis Park and head back to the motorway there are no weight restriction signs, no 12t limit and no 9t limit at the top of Stanisławowska so it seems to be a one way weight restriction. :open_mouth:  On Graniczna there is a 30t limit over a small bridge between the roundabout with the shopping centre and the entrance to the park, it is signed with a white circular sign, red border and 30t in black, if it means the same in Poland as it does in the UK you can go that way as long as you are no more than 30t at the time as opposed to plated weight. I was only about 24t on the way in and 26t on the way out. Plenty of other trucks were using the road.

I spent the night there Tuesday night as they were not able to reload me until Wednesday morning. I had been given a delivery time of 15:00 but that was incorrect, they close at that time. It meant when I got there just after 14:00 they only had enough time to unload me before they went home. I had only bought 1 days vignette so had to get another, which wasn’t easy as although some places had a sign up saying they sold it, they didn’t. Finally at one place I tried a Polish driver who had worked in England pulling containers out of Southampton helped me out and found a place I could get it, he wasn’t sure himself but he asked a few other drivers and a place was located. :stuck_out_tongue:

In most places in Europe when you buy fuel you get a free coffee but not at the BP station I used in Poland. Instead because I put in more than 200 litres I got a free meal and very nice it was too, I’ll make use of that facility again. :stuck_out_tongue:

Had a great run back. Left Wroclaw at 10:00 yesterday and 9 hours 45 minutes driving got me to just before Dortmund. Nine hours off and just over 8 hours driving today got me back to Hatfield for 16:00, not a single hold up anywhere on route.

Once again thanks for the help Orys, it was invaluable.

Sounds like you had a very good run coffeeholic!! im leaving szsczecin tommorow for london and hope
i have a good run too! the weather on the way here was terrible, and when we left on the 21st dec at 7pm

Oh, that was fun, as I digged more and found that you can’t go legally if you are over 30 tons

I will write more when I return to Scotland… But things like this remind me why I left Poland

Ok then.

I am now in Katy Wroclawskie, visiting friends.

I just checked the weather forecast, there are heavy snow showers expected near Magdeburg and on that nothern route, on the new one (along E40) there is NO SNOW or LIGHT SNOW forecast… I am trying to get this new one…

Keep your fingers crossed as I have to catch ferry at the morning…

I am back, It took me 28 hours in total…

Easy.

And I took my gf on the romantic sail on the Thames (as I forgot to take a turn into Dartford Crossing and when I realised, I was almost at Woolwich ferry).

We’ve been also dinning in restaurant (McDonald’s). That was low-budget romantic trip

Weather was great, sometimes was snowing, but no major problems on the road…

I LOVE snow
