Working/driving hours help

I am now wishing I had started a new thread for this discussion …

Thanks very much for the detailed replies chaps.
Think I’ve just about got my head around it. Basically the best driving shift would be on my Saturday off retail and start at 02.00 and finish by 12.00 then I would have repaid my rest time before I start my retail job on Monday at 09.00.
Document everything down retail/rest/driving/breaks ect so that if I get pulled over I will give the nice VOSA man the least amount of mental arithmetic to do before he lets me on my way.

Thanks once again.

I think you could struggle to find someone who will take you on with such time and work restrictions. If you were part time in your normal job you would have a chance but as it is basically a company would need to fit their work around your available time.

I agree with truckster5 to limit yourself to such specific times will most likely result in you getting no work.

If you work to any of the scenarios in the first two replies in this thread you will be legal and stand a chance of getting some work, also you could do a shift on the weekends that you don’t work on Saturday morning and as long as you have at-least 24 consecutive hours rest at some point and pay back the compensation you will be fine.

Basically you should ignore all the unsubstantiated crap that’s been posted in this thread about needing weekly rest periods in weeks that you don’t drive, it’s just taken a reasonably simple question and confused and complicated it for no good reason :unamused:
