I’m currently sporting these. ebay.co.uk/itm/370842815333? … 1497.l2649 They’re not the lightest, but comfortable and the low lops mean they’re not as restrictive as most bulky boots.

Bought my first pair of safety shoes yesterday, not bad after 40 years driving but a customer was getting excited about my attitude.I bought a pair of
sports type shoes,in black suede made by Apache and have been running them in today.Hell, even more comfortable than my slippers,
don’t want to take them off but not cheapies, £50 inc vat, wish I’d bought them years ago.highly recommended.

Adidas stan smiths ,black

I wear DeWalt Challenger 2. Very comfortable.

Do most people buy their own or get them bought for them by their employer?

I’m a bit of a boot snob but I was caught short there in the rain & had to buy a pair from travis perkins, £25 & I love them, really comfy although they do look a bit special needs.

I bought my own…

my last employer supplied ours

We get them supplied but they are dam awful and painful so I bought a cheap Aldi pair a couple of months ago as a stop gap for about £15 and they are surprisingly brilliant and comfy, plus they seem to be wearing well and still look like new
A gamble that paid

They are rubbish .i did a pair in in 8 months soles are to soft ,hasent this topic been talk about enough times ,or is somebody board :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

We get riggers supplied i keep them in the cab incase i go somewhere super muddy but findthem too ■■■■■■■■■■ for driving.

Funny you say that about boots, I have had diesel cars for 15+ years and recently got a petrol as a run around, when in my work boots I drive it like a right ■■■■ when pulling away at lights and stuff, over revving  but I am fine with my trainers on
Never had any issues with boots in my diesels or my other car thats diesel.  just saying

i used to have DeWalt apprentice £43 from Ebay they were really comfy but the soles wore through really quicky and the toe caps werent up to scratch and i’d end up replacing them after 8 months. now i’m using the boots supplied by work made by Uvex Quatro Pro brilliant sturdy waterproof strong soles. been wearing them since sept and still look like new and barely any wear on the sole.

Black leather, over the knee, platform heels.

I have a pair of Caterpillar lace ups that are brilliant driving shoes and are a dream on my soles. I also have a pair of V12 dealer boots that are good when I’m unloading.

Surely going by your username you need super hamptons

Employer provides me with safety boots. Unfortunately the client dictates that they can only spend a tenner or so a pair, which means we only get some right old rubbish that (a) isn’t very comfortable and (b) has a life expectancy of just a few months before the soles split and/or the insoles disintegrate (our work involves a lot of leg work, pulling loaded pallets up hill and down dale, running up and down stairs etc so we tend to be hard on footwear).

Needless to say both companies are inflexible in their approach, so I end up with a brand new pair of cheapie boots that I leave in their box and buy myself a reasonable pair of boots to actually wear. Currently have a pair of Caterpillar “Kaufman” boots, which list at £90 but I got from a local shoe shop for £30. Very pleased with them as they are quite light and flexible.
