Work, agencies, problems, help

though obviously i wish i was driving at least a class 2 motor iunstead of a 7.5t.

after a while you start to get annoyed with the dinky vans that they are and crave more weight lol.

oops krankee apologies close to the wind i know
wont happen again . this week anyhow

its not all bad. i had a newly qualified class one driver register with my agency earlier this year. he did get some class 1 work from the agency but he landed a job with an employer who prefers new drivers as he can train them to do the job the way he wants it done. what that means exactly i dont know but at least there are people out there willing to take you on. just keep at it until your chance comes up

I think it may be down to location. I only passed class 2 in June but have regular work and 3 agencies that keep phonong me up wanting to know if i’m available for work.

The beauty of the midlands apparently is that everyone wants next day delivery these days so logistics warehouses are being thrown up around here every day as you can get everywhere within a few hours.

You may be right the midlands is very handy for logistic companies ect due to its position and close proximity with all Mways.

I popped down to the agency today and they wanted me to do a run to Purfleet now . I said no they then said tomorrow, Monday. Still no as I have to go down to Weybridge to do some company fleet work Monday and some Learners Sat and a refresher LGV C+E course Sunday. He didnt even ask me how long it had been since I drove such a vehicle. I did point out that I was off on a course yet he still offered me the Purfleet run.

I said I should be ok for a few days the week after but the fleet work comes first. The consultant agency chap seemed rather desperate.

One bloke walked in asking for work with a normal licence and he starts next week on a 7.5 tonne ( grandad rights)
