Why is Road Haulage as a career declining?

This insurance malarkey gets on my wick. My old man took me out with him for as long as I can remember. Taught me to drive as soon as I could get every pedal to the floor. He’s knackered these days, on borrowed time, only time he leaves the bungalow is when I take him to the footie. Rather than do it behind his back, I asked the boss if I could take him for one last run out.

Nope. And if I find out you have, consider yourself fired on the spot. He’s a liability.

My rucksack is more likely to fall off the passenger seat than my dad is. He’d bloody love it.

your boss sounds a right know it all ■■■■■ who do you work for?
I am sure the truck will be insured to carry a passenger otherwise there would be no seat that side, I always went with my old chap and grandfather as a kid, I will take my kids with me more in the future also!

Jesus, he’d be helping me unload if he was up to it.

My old man has forgot more shortcuts around London than I’ll ever know

+1.

Boss sounds a right miserable bugger, did he used to be on security, repelling boarders at Mothercare?
