Some of the new lorries out

You cant beat the Scottish liveries, Stevens of Wick is no exception.Regarding the o"reilly F88 I had to put my glasses on ,at first glance it looked very much like one Smith of Whiteinch (curle st Glasgow)did a change over at westhoughton with the night man in the 70s ,only did it for 6 months. Had to tip and load for night man and some days where to many miles and constantly running over my time. The 88 was a very good truck at the time.

Hi Ardennes
Did you know WATTY JAMIESON he was on SMITHS he was a day man and changed over at Charnock Richard. Eddie.

Hello Eddie, never met Watty but then again only ever spoke to my night driver except seeing the boss at Curle St.My night driver lived at Blackrod and changed there.Remember the bright steel bars all slipped to one side as the proper equipment was not available, xxxxxxx to unload especially with 4 or 5 drops in the midlands.Loading at Buxton ICI orSpillers was ok but when you ended up at maybe Peterborough and expected to load in lancs it got a bit stretched.Maybe we met somewhere along the line,I was at malcolms after N.I.T. and had a rush of blood to the head and went to Smiths .Left (or was pushed) when i refused to work New Years Day,got my job back at Malcolms (thank god)had to load trailers in Heinz for 2 or 3 months as a penance.
Best Wishes ardennes

Thanks for that Ardennes just wondered if you had met him. Eddie,

Was talking to my brother today and he thinks a scania r730 is better than a volvo fh750 and I think he’s wrong so which one is the best

Always had a leaning towards scanias albeit the earlier marques,so still going to say the scania. regards ardennes

I now scanias are more popular but the volvo would pull better even a fh700 pulls better than A r730

What do yous think of this

I reckon this is one of the smartest looking Irish wagons.

This is a smart scotch one.

And this but I am biased because it’s now mine.

This is one of the nicest English motors on the road.

Or this.

Thinking about it I think the Foden could be owned by a Welsh lad now.

It would look better without them daft yellow headlights !!!

Derbyshire foden those are some really nice lorries lad and that Derbyshire scania must be a nice lorry to drive and as for the yellow headlights on the mercedes I don’t like them too but I was on about the scania 3 series Sun visor on it
