Mr B:
i use a standard tomtom 720 but with a truck upgrade which you can find on tinternet.
Works perfectly and if you go for 520 will cost around £200
Can you put a link on for this upgrade?

get one with a big screen
my tom tom is 5 years old
the screen is ok but would be better
with a large screen when using the map function
tasty:
tom tom one basic model about 90 quid, and then the simple truckers atlas in conjunction.
Best reply.
I aint a truck driver but I bought myself a TomTom One v4 with Western Europe. I’ve used it ALOT in the UK and it’s never let me down. It’s always taken me to the place I want to go to. It’s very pointless investing in a Sat Nav which tells you they profess in truck driving because that Sat Nav will let you down - as you think that the Sat Nav will do everything it says it’ll do… it won’t. Buy a TomTom One and a truckers atlas. Best choice.
I have a TomTom Go 730 and the AA Trucker’s Atlas (which in itself needs an artic to be carted around! ) but I fancy trying a lorry-specific sat-nav to see if they’re any good.
Toying with the idea of getting the Pronav HGV sat-nav but am in two minds. I’ve just seen that Garmin do a lorry sat-nav: the Nuvi 465T that looks okay but pricey.
I like this screenshot…
Hmmmm, 12’ tall, 8’ wide and 75’ long lorry, anyone?
