Ordinary Tom Tom does me, and A Phillips truck Atlas for the bridges and weight limits. to be honest, I do europe and my sat nav gives me the distance and a guide as to the way to go, but you need common sense, no matter what you decide. Its not hard to spot road signs indicating low bridges, weight limit or width restrictions - even in our european neighbours.

If you have an I pad there is a very good Renault truck sat nav app it’s about £100It’s £139
Search eBay for iTunes voucher codes. You could buy £150 worth for ££120 or less
Go for the MIO…i have one, wouldnt be without it, very up to date route maps, dont know about bridge heights, ( use your loaf ), dont know about speed cameras, dont care, just drive with caution, and i would reccommend this company to anyone, mine is a bit old ( about 8 yrs ) but its brilliant…good luck with whatever you choose.

Just get a standard TomTom,download and add the low bridges from tinternet and off you go,none of the “hgv” sat navs are worth 100’s more than the £90 tomtoms imo…after 7 years using a standard tomtom with low bridge data instead of a “hgv” sat nav.ckm1981, Have you got a link to the low bridges site for the Tom Tom - and , are they Free
No link but I can email you the files… Pm me.

Thanks you lot i think ill go with the snooper
i have the snooper and a box of maps but you will still need common sense. sometimes it will try and take you down silly roads and you need your brain to kick in! remember it only looks at roads that have limits and dangers. it doesn’t really notice roads that are unclassified, little side streets with cars parked either side and just about enough room for a transit is a popular one!
use ones noggin sir and you should get on fine!
keep your receipt!! i am not saying they are unreliable but i did have an issue with my old s2000 and that was replaced by snooper. but in the time that took i brought a s7000 and that had an issue. i just took it into phonebitz with the receipt and it was swapped instantly!
also always use the extra aerial / antenna in cities. i have been driving through central london roadwork diversions before now and it has suddenly lost all signal because my aerial wasn’t in! NOT FUN
Does anyone use the garmin dezl i am thinking of getting one and heard they are as good as the snooper but without the tv
Little Snooper S900 here, not one problem yet

yea as far as i know. I got a S7000 and only pull it out to watch tv when waiting to tip etc. used to drive down to london all the time with mine and never had a problem with it loosing signal in city centre
There’s a sat nav app on the iPhone that’s completely free called NavFree (cryptic, huh?! ). It’s for UK and ROI and isn’t too bad, considering you don’t have to pay a penny for it. It’s not totally infallible but is ok if you use it with a dose of common sense.
I have had the snooper and now using a garmin dezl. Out of the both the dezl is better. You are able to import your own poi files, and the map updates are much better value. About £60 for lifetime updates.
I also find the software better to use, and it uses more direct routes rather than sticking to motorways etc.
