If you are in there nearly everyday like we are, then you soon get to know the black spots as do the planners. Plus all the trucks are geared up for it, cameras, rear wheel steer, snooper truck nav as standard.

Ours aren’t. 26 tonners, no cameras, no rear steer.

I’ve been looking after my father who he has early stages of Alzheimers (although he’s still active), with the need for appointments for doctors etc conflicting with my availabity for work meant I’ve been working less throughout the last year.
The post xmas period has been quiet due to someone (a brown nosed clerk) at a site nearby taking exception, telling tales to the gaffer and getting me blackballed for something I haven’t done. But that’s how things go in the agency driving game. There will no doubt be occasions in the future where demand will have them asking for me to return, memories tend to be short.
So with the combination of factors I’ve decided not to bother chasing work and ease more into a carer role. Relaxing when I can & with the summer fast approaching, ride my motorcycle a little more

Up London now, and had to make an unscheduled journey from Euston station to the UCL Hospital across the road in a powered wheelchair, after my friend (who normally uses it) had a seizure and dislocated both her hips while waiting for her train back up north. I think it only does 4mph but takes a lot of getting used to! The ambulance guy asked me if I had a licence to drive it - I told him I had an HGV licence and normally drove artics. Makes a change from being above everyone else on the road.
All over the place, currently parked up in Scarborough though. Lovely day here.
