No worries mate,

I had my last shift at mcdowells Friday, they offered me a full time position after I told them id been offered where I’m going next month but I told them id already accepted and that it was a first come first serve regarding driving work. To be fair to them they’ve told me should where I’m going not work out that the doors always open to me so id like to think my few weeks driving was well proven.

I’ll be off into a rental 26t iveco to start which as nervous as I am in dead excited to get started. But regarding the office work I’m glad I’m leaving, I couldn’t put into words how mind numbing it is but after a few near misses on the way home with me being tired, nights just isn’t for me and going onto days in the office just wasn’t an option. Put my notice on the desk tonight, and the countdown is on. I’ll be sad to say goodbye to a few people but its my chance to get started.

Fingers crossed it’ll go to plan

Cheers

What was the crack with mcdowells, did you stick some hols in and do it cash in hand

I work 4 on 4 off in the office, I originally took 8 days off for my birthday as I was going to get absolutely hammered but then I passed my Cat C test  So I decided id try get some work see how I faired up as I had near on 3 weeks off. I told my managers so any problems they should have said, but seemed alright enough with it. Ironically I said id never work my birthday as long as I’m still breathing…i ended up working on my birthday taking a load down to Sheffield broke down on the way home

I did two full weeks and a part week for last week as an unexpected breakdown gave me an extra day off :imp: But it was purely to get a little experience tramping, loved every minute. Should things go ■■■■ up where I’m going, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back. Just a shame they offered the job a little too late but I’ve got to go where the money is and where the full time contract is.

Cheers

Banbury.

Dunno, guess I will just have to wait 'n see again!! :unamused: I never know from one day to the next where they are going to send me, in a way that’s ok because it takes the monotony out of the job. But sometimes it is nice to know in advance so you can get your correct kit together for the type of job.
