Had the misfortune of a cab fire a few years back.Pulled up and first thing i grabbed was wallet containing money/passport/fuelcards .Next was baccy (it happened in Belge) followed by important things like tea bags and my wash bag.
Can remember standing, watching and thinking burn ya ■■■■ burn but as the smoke cleared it dawned on me that it was a compolsury Iveco wiring malfunction . . and the boss got it re loomed
Ho hum
hand brake and then the door handle - the rest can burn . My phone stays in my pocket along with my car keys . Only other thing is the hi vis coat in the rucksack - depending on the heat it could stay or come with me if I thought I had the time to grab it .
I once had to lose a load of straw that had started to go up - someone threw a ciggie at it at a set of traffic lights in Dublin - the fire was half way down a 45 foot load - hand brake on , out pulled the pin and away as far as I could get when the lines snapped - lucky I had the taps to turn off the red line when it snapped and build the air up and get away . You have no time to grab this and that - don’t fool yourself get stopped and get out - it’s about all you will have time to do .
