Never had one - had to make do with the 1600.
Mind you, it did have a vinyl roof and an 8 track stereo
I had a 1600 L, no vinyl roof but it had a radio/cassette player, i got some rostile (rostyle?) wheels for it from the local scrapyard. Totally transformed the car!
One of my mates to this day still calls me The Sweeney, (the back up car to the Granada was a mark3 Cortina, same colour as mine)
I got a pull from a copper in the middle of Norwich once, as it had a multi siren thing under the bonnet (it was in the car when i bought it) i came down a 1way street, flicked the switch to Ambulance for 2 seconds, me and my mates laughing, as i started to go round a corner, 1 of 2 copper’s stepped out into the road, made me pull up on the side, asked me to get out the car, judging by his expression he didnt expect to see someone with a mohican get out, he asked me to sound my horn, so i pressed the normal one,
beep-beep
no sir the other one please
thats the only one ive got
no it isnt is it
yes
lift the bonnet please
ok
clunk
whats this sir?
i have no idea
i think it is a siren
is it?, ive never noticed that before
copper then proceeds to pull the wires out of the siren, the whole thing comes out as it wasnt secured very well
i look at him, he looks at me, drops it on the floor and stands on it, then chucks it in a nearby bin.
that seems to be fine sir, off you go
thank you officer
happy days!

Both of Chis Eubanks Kenworths are pretty standard, not extended like that.
I assume he has 2, I’ve seen him in 2 Kenworths with different number plates, not sure if it’s the same truck or not though tbh - 1ko and CHR11S (might’ve been 3 1’s…)
^^^^^ surely his plate should have been CHR 1TH. ?

Nice one.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could chose what truck to drive, just like we chose what car to buy/drive. So folks, if in the ideal world, your boss came upto you and said your getting a brand new truck and that you get to pick it, no expense spared/the skys the limit!!. What would you choose to spend your hard days/weeks work in?.[/quot
Which ever was the best lorry to drive I couldn’t give a monkeys what badge is on the front as long as I was paid well to drive it
Volvo FH auto, anything over 450bhp, if money is no object I’ll take a 750, don’t like slowing down for hills

Funny you mention a 750 and not slowing down for hills.
I passed a ‘750’ at Stainmore in my wee CF 410. He was doing about 35mph and I thundered past on the limiter at 52mph.
Now either the ‘750’ was broke…after all it is a volvo or those fake badges are very, very heavy.
maybe its me but i sat in one of the new mercedes trucks last year and it done nothing for me,all i know is driving so thats the only reason i do it cos it pays the mortgage, but a brand new truck does nothing for me at all,i dont get excited like i did years ago,if i got a new truck now i would be more worried about damaging it,having said that a DAF95 XF would not go amiss, purely for comfort of course + i am a daf fan anyway
Always wanted a Volvo F16, and a tip top trailer to go with it.
I guess if money was no object I’d go for a top spec Magnum.
The only time the spec of your truck matters is when you’re tramping. I’ve tramped in all sorts and having a high spec Magnum made the job much more tolerable. But for trunking or day work, I’ll drive whatever you give me to drive and take any extra money that’s going begging in my wage packet.
Any truck that doesn’t have a light bridge interior.
